I know there have been posts about this before and everyone always rips on em... but seriously, DO THEY ACTUALLY THINK IT LOOKS COOL??? I mean they look so stupid, there is no way anyone could think it's cool. Do they just do it cuz they can't ski?

of course they do it cause it's cool, why else would they do it. snowboarders or other people ask, why do skiers ski, do they seriously think it's cool? it's all a matter of perspective

i did it like 4 years ago, and i did it cause i thought it looked cool, and it was fun, then i realized how gay and easy it was, so i started skiing.

skier respect snowboarders and snowboarders respect skiers...very few people (including myself) have respect for snowbladers...i admit i took a season when i was 13 and snowbladed when it was the thing to do...Now i've got my PE's and i wouldnt trade them for anything...snowblading is dead. Let it go along with tamagatchi's, furby's, tickle me elmos, and the pet rock...its over

i forget who said this but most snowboarders have no respect for skiiers. i dotn nkow how anybody oculd think that they have half as much respect for us tahn we deserve. even the poser snowboarders dont respect us. fuck them.

yea man seriously, leave them alone, i did it and alot of my friends did and and some still do, they like it just like you like skiing, they get stoked to go out on a nice day and so do you, some snowboarders say 'hey look at those gay skiiers' but those are usualy the stuck up and immature ones, so instead of being stuck up and immature and making fun of another very similar sport keep it to yourself and it will make you look a whole less ignorant and much smarter..... thanks.....

1260line, what are you talking about? All of the snowboarders I ride with give skiers just as much props for doing a nice trick as they do each other, be is a smooth 180 or a corked 7.

I wont say how long ago I skiboarded, but I did. Then I took a look around and figured out that I wasn't setting a trend, there were no people with skiboards in Cali, save for the rednecks, because it sucks. Not only is it too easy, it looks really crappy. I liked it though, becaused I sucked at snowboarding. I finally realized that even though it was cool to hang out with my freinds, I was on skiboards and looked like an idiot.

We all do stupid stuff when we are kids, and this is one mistake alot of people make. I probably would have gotten skis alot earlier on but I couldnt afford them, so there is a reason right there: price.

By the way, all of the snowboarders I know who dont like skiers are the ones that suck

in fact, id say id respect skiboarders more than skiers with short skis.. skiboarders arnt claiming to be skiers, and cheating there way through the sport.

 
Hey Bern: I dont know if you were talking to me or not but if you were, let me clarify myself:

I dont hate on skiboarding, I was trying to give you guys an idea of what its like on the other side. I think that if more skiboarders realized how illegitement they are and how other people see them, they would switch to skis. In fact, I would say most of them do judging by the amount of ex skiboarders here. I loved skiboarding and was in denial about the whole sport. I dont lose any respect for skiboarders, as long as they aren't wearing a one peice, camo, or doing really gay airs off the sides of jumps

wow. I asked if they thought it was cool. I don't mind, i just don't think anyone, including the skiboarders think it's cool. Plus any skiblader ive met has been a total fuck. I think they're just people that can't ski.

About the snowboarding thing... I said GOOD snowboarders have respect for skiing, aka not posers. The poser snowboarders (9 out of 10 snowboarders) are the ones that rip on skiing because they are so insecure with their own skills that they think it makes them cool. All of the snowboarders I know that are good, including any pros Ive met in the past, think it's awesome that skiing is progressing and that there's a scene. They also respect skiing. I doubt any snowbladers respect their sport.

I brought all this up after talking to a guy who works for a skiblading company who is forced to skiblade since he works for the company. I was shopping for Kneissl Rail Boots and came to their site, and so I called them up and the guy told me I should just ski, and I told him that I never skibladed. So yeah... I just feel bad for the skibladers that can't switch over.

If you get ripped on by a snowboarder ask them what they can do, and tell them you'll play them in a game of 'JIB' and 99 out of 100 times they'll say some lame excuse why they won't. Just look at my sig, it's not a rip on snowboarding, just the posers.

im a skiboarder and i have to say, I dont care what any of you close-minded skiers have to say. i do it cuz i like it and im not going to stop just cuz you told me to. i ski too and i like that for different reasons why i like skiboarding. just because i skiboard doesnt mean i cant ski. its time for you to stop being a nazi and accept that people do their own thing for their own enjoyment. use other people in this forum as an example. they just simply dont care. neither should you. why should you care?

apparently he jsut wanted to know if they were cool, so if the majority said skiboarding was not cool he would join in, make your own decisions and keep them to yourself, dont have someone else tell you whats cool and whats not, do you need to consult your friends before u go to school every morning to see if what your wearing that day is 'cool'?

i've never once seen a snowlerblader that can do any better than hitting the smallest jump in the park, flailing all over, doing the running man, and landing on their face. show me a good snowlerblader and they might get some compassion from me. i'm sure they exist, but i have yet to see one

I was thinking about this at school and I realized that most skiboarders have never even gotten to ski. I had skiied once in third grade before trying snowboarding, sucking, and then skiboarding. I was just stoked to be on the mountain with my freinds. The thing you guys dont realize is that to snowlerbladers, the last thing on their mind is how they looked, its probably the only sport in the history of mankind that throws style to the wind. I finally realized after 3 years that I wasnt as cool as I thought, and thats why I ski now. Go to any skiboard website, and most of the kids on there are stoked to grind a five foot rail in their driveway. Think of them as the lower class minority of snowsports, and dont hate, just feel sorry for them.

I used to skiboard.

Now I cant because I refuse to live a life of sin.
 
for once im actually with mike nick on what he said in volume. it doesnt matter the size of board if your havin fun people dont need t ride 170's just to be cool ya know. if people feel comfortable on them and they love to bein out its there choice. i say dont worry about what everyone else is doing and just worry about yourself

Tip-2-Tip that was well said...I was a skiblader for a good 2 years and no I dont feel ashamed about it..infact if I hadnt of broke my leg (because of the bindings not popping out) i whould have still today been skiblading and still enjoying it, its like when skateboarders make fun of rollerbladers...they really dont care what the skateboarders said and I was the same way, I just went out there and had fun. I have 4 friends with snowblades and the one is really good at it, I dont mock them cause I was once in there boots, sure twin tips look better but I dont mock the skibladers. Anyone who mocks them is a fucking idiot with no respect for other.
