Yo, I live on the Gold coast in australia, so dont get to train much when I'm at home, and i have proposed to the local indoor skate park (who has a ramp and foam pit) that they put material down for skiers to train on.
They said it was a good idea, and they would like to know more HOWEVER. I dont really know more. Can anyone tell me good materials (i think snowflex is what its called) and if it can be removable or not.

The two leaders in non snow ski-able surfaces are undoubtedly snowflex & neveplast. The main difference is that snowflex requires irrigation and neveplast does not. They both have their pros & cons but I would check out their websites & request some quotes once you know the size of what you're looking for.

There's a company trying to set up two centres in Melbourne at the moment. Inside word is they didn't realise they have to spray water over it the entire time, so the costs have ballooned and it probably wont happen.
Moral of the story is that its a fuck load more expensive than you'd think. Is there really that much demand for it up at the Gold Coast?

hey mate,

I'm up in Brisbane, what's the name of the place? I might hit them up as well and suggest it. I'd love to have something in the area, and let's face it it's only like a 30 minute drive to the GC.

http://www.snowflex.com/ < check out the official snowflex site.

Nah I imagine there really isnt that much demand, but i hate sitting round while doing nothing, and im willing to put some of my own money in to make something happen really haha. Might try the neveplast website, since it doesnt requite irrigation.
The name of the place is called GC compound

you dont have to run sprinklers all the time, it will make it quicker but it will slide similar to maybe dendex, where i ski (plymouth dryslope) they put the spinklers systems on only every few hours for like 25/30 minuets

im not sure if its the same as a water ramp, but if its not watered frequently (like every 5 mins) they get ruined and start to droop.
