Snowcat Operations

Im looking into a snowcat trip here in Colorado sometime in the near feature. I hear from people that the Monarch operation was pretty good but was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on which cat operation is best.

Can't beat Catski Irwin. The cat is nicer than my house and the team is legit.

Don't know about terrain, but its pretty hard to beat the 500" of annual snowfall up at Irwin.

Yep, and they are looking at getting more like 1,000 this year.

Couple of thoughts though....be sure if you're not renting the whole cat you get in a good group. Cat skiing moves only as fast as the slowest skier....further, they aren't going to push skiers but rather make sure everyone has a good time.

As a result if you're in a group with poor skiers they won't be taking you on hard runs but rather dropping you on nice mellow powder feilds w/o cliffs or challenging terrain.

Just inquire with them....talk to them about your skiing ability and make sure to convery the fact you don't want to go with old farts.
