You can just say you don't like apple, most of the sheeple who give you shit for not having an iPhone can't handle hearing that someone doesn't like apple. It's a far better argument and there's nothing better than shitting on apple to apple fanboys.

nah apple is chill and with sideloading being forced i might switch back since new android phones also dont have the jack

Snowbrains is just a platform for the owner, Miles, to fund his ski travels. It’s glaringly apparent if you’ve talked to the guy.

Sideloading?

Apple is not chill, they actively use features like iMessage to alienate non-iphone users to keep their users vs creating new/interesting features and collaboration with others, its not even a status symbol anymore it's so easy to get a free iphone these days. RCS is the future and apple is pushing back so hard because they know dumbass iphone sheeple will move on when the fake elitism is eliminated

Yep. Sat on the lift one time with him. He was not like I expected at all. He just wants to ski all the time.

holy shit man their marketing w/ att drives me nuts, its insane, it fully solidifies how fucking dumb the general public is, do they actually care its titanium? do they care cause apple tells them to care? its like the worst possible feature to highlight, nobody cares that its made with titanium.

i'm fairly certain that 90% of the population had never heard of titanium before they saw it on the new iphone campaign haha.

also, isn't it fair to simply state that each platform has its pros and cons and people can just choose what they prefer based on their own hierarchy of priorities? liking an apple product doesn't mean you have to think androids are bullshit and liking an android phone doesn't mean you have to think apple users are pretentious douchebags

what for profit business isn’t to benefit the owner in that type of manner?

preferred the plastic back on the 5 for durability reasons, but its whatever. 7 pro is nice.

i heard verizon has a deal going where you can trade in your etch-a-sketch and get a free blackberry

At this point I just use an iPhone because it's what my last company standardized on. My new company gave me a choice. I might get my first personal phone in 23 years due to needing to seperate personal from business because cyber security concerns in the field I work in. Maybe I'll get an Android for the hell of it.

What if I switch from AT&T to verizon

s21 or pixel 6 are only newer phones at a good price right now, a year ago i had a pixel 2xl and it was still a good phone, also that and s9's cost like $30 with a little image burn. I've had like 5 s7 edges but they finally aren't supported and are slower

Android better, way cheaper and the phones don't slow down after 500 charges

all phones (and other devices) with lithium ion batteries suffer from this, since the battery is a consumable component that wears out with use, simply no way around it even with the most meticulous battery health habits. Apple caught a lot of public flack for their solution for battery aging by throttling the CPU to avoid unintended low voltage shutdown, and now on the iOS battery settings page with a compromised battery you are given the choice if you prefer throttling or rolling the dice w/ full CPU power but potential for shutdowns. To be fair this choice was added after all the public throttling outrage

Of course this was all over the news since clickbait apple articles are $$$ but truth is every li-ion battery requires that choice to be made, and if its not in your devices settings, that choice was made for you by the manufacturer. I don't see any public outrage for it on other devices. Again, consumers need to understand that batteries are consumables, and 500 charge cycles absolutely changes the effectiveness of the li-ion chemistry, no matter if its android, apple, or anyone.

I have a lot of experience w/ li-ion battery health from drone piloting the past ~8 years, since obviously the health of those batteries is more crucial/a safety hazard than devices that stay on the ground. Avoid high heat in general, don't charge/rapidly discharge cold batteries until they're back to room temp, aim for the sweet spot of ~20-80% and go outside of that as sparingly as you can (especially draining it dead), and store longterm close to ~50% for the best chance at prolonging the life of your batteries

its clear you're not a fan but this reply reads as if you haven't head the latest updates on this situation. The EU, which had a very significant role in pressuring apple putting USB-C onto the current iPhones, is also applying pressure for sideloading, and other governing bodies outside the EU are putting pressure on apple for RCS. It was recently confirmed by apple that RCS is coming in 2024, and not confirmed but Sideloading is most likely coming in Europe in 2024

I think it's quite a significant feature that many others care about. Idk if you ever felt an iPhone 13 pro/14 pro but they are bricks. So damn heavy compared to earlier models of the same size. The titanium is significantly lighter than the previous stainless steel shells and the difference holding them side by side is noticeable. Now the 6.1" 15 pro is the same weight as the older 5.8" 11 pro, which was already slightly heavier than the 5.8" iPhone X, which was larger/heavier than the 6/7/8, etc...

I'm not a fan of large/heavy devices, and value one-handed use, so I'm still rocking my 13 Mini with no plans on changing, but I'm thrilled that the 15 Pro is a step back in the (IMO) right direction of making devices more comfortable to use. Specifically with the Mini, this is an area where I see no competition from the android side of things as phones continue to just balloon bigger and heavier despite one handed usability not being a thing anymore. Does a competitive android phone thats similar size/weight to an iPhone mini exist currently? AFAIK that answer is no

This is all great information and true, but I can pop the back of my phone off and swap the batteries myself in under 30 seconds. I've had my iphone fully freeze before and the only way to give it a hard reboot was to wait for the battery to drain completely, with my samsung I just literally pop the back off, pull out the battery and put it back in. When the batteries get shitty I just buy new batteries, they are $9 and the phone works like new.
