Why do it?

...because it's fun as hell? I'm sure I could find you hundreds of pictures of skiers that look way more retarded than that snowboarder.

No. Us snowboarders are a peaceful being and we love skiers. To tell you the truth I enjoy watching skiing much more than watching snowboarding. We all respect one another so why hate. Peace, love, jahh.

I don't have anything thing against snowboarding, im an ex-snowboarder myself. I just thought the picture was kinda ridiculous, and funny. No hate intended

I'm a snowboarder and agree that kid looks ridiculous but there are skiiers who can look equally as ridiculous. Like kids who wear Multiple brightly colored tall tees to their shins an unzipped jiberish 5xl vest and roll their pants up so you can peep their hot doggers.

Snowboarding is sweet, most of the guys I ride with are boarders.

Last weekend I strapped on a buddies board which I usually do once a season and my first run I caught the toe side edge and it slammed me so hard....boarders take way harder falls than skiers hands down, and just learning how to ski in general is 50 times easier than riding a board in my opinion.

and there are so many more skiers that look worse than the OP's pic.

Haha sorry but that's a pretty big assumption to make just because you caught an edge once. I think both sports are way more similar in learning curve and overall difficulty than people think.

not an assumption it is a fact, both feet are free in skiing if you begin to fall it's much easier to regain your control and prevent a harder fall.

I started out skiing when I was little but switched to snowboarding at 13. I just love it. It's like long boarding on snow. I still love skiing though. I feel like the films are better, and the competitions are more entertaining cause it's not always one guy winning (aka Shaun White). I got soo bored of watching snowboarding cause of that.

Shaun white only wins at super pipe. He didn't even compete in the slope style at X games this year (supposedly because his ankle hurt, though he seemed fine in the pipe the next day), and he didn't go to the best event of the year (Supernatural).

GAHHH! Everything in this thread except the OP's picture, and comments supporting it makes me real angry.

Mark McMorris. He's from my tiny home hill in Saskatchewan (claim). IMO Torstein should have won Big Air, his triple was much cleaner, but McMorris definitely deserved his slopestyle gold.

I'm a skier. I where stuff that isn't below my knees. Thats Henricks job.

Focus on the skiing. Not the clothing. Same goes to snowboarders.

If you're good, where whatever the fuck you want. If you suck and are trying to get better, who cares what you where? Just focus on getting better

i just don't understand the fascination with wearing your pants down low. i mean when you're bombing down a mountain at top speed, don't you want as much freedom of movement as possible to keep yourself from slamming head first into a tree? just a thought.

I'm a big fan of bibs/suspenders for this reason. You can keep your pants up without having them tight.
