Snowboarding VS SKiing...... Rails

Well no one is stopping you or any other skier from getting even better. Both skiers and snowboarders alike are trying to take their sport further and further. But you're still enjoying the same thing, sliding on rails. And you do it in different ways. Because you are on different equipment. Therefore they are different sports.

i thought you were a skier... But yeah, skiers do put down snowboarding too much. though this is a skiing site...

I bet any snowboarding site would be calling skiing gay.

Seriously, though, spatulas weren't designed to be park ridden, hellbents partially were. i think skiing has a long way to go on style tricks on rails, and snowboarding is slowing down on the progression of rail style. Maybe boarding is going more tech, but skiing is going both directions.

Sure there is no "skiing style" or "snowboard style", but it's the overall style of the sports that people mean by skiing's style.

Anyway, that's all i can say.

Is this even a serious thought that ran through your mind? How are skiers more into there sport? And snowboarders don't snowboard becuase everyone does it unless there a giant tool. There are people like that but don't put everything way out of proportion. Thats like saying people who play football are more into football than baseball players. It makes no fucking sense. Skiers don't have to try to stay away from 80's back scratchers either. Both snowboarding and skiing have evolved since then. People who don't ski or snowboard may have that perception about skiing more than snowboarding just becuase there ignorant but thier fucking morons. Anyone who has a slight appreciation for both sports know that skiers kill it and boarders do the same. Snowboarding may be a more main scene sports but that doesn't mean they don't try. I've seen many boarders throw down harder than a lot of skiers, but on the other hand I've also seen a skier throw down better than a ton of boarders. So don't make random generalizations about an entire group of people.

this kid actually knows his shit. I snowboard. in snowboarding a pretzel implies doing a noseslide and then an oppo 270 out. In skiing 270 on then oppo way 270 out (that's what I understand from my brother), which would be virtually impossible to do at all, not to mention with style. I watch a fair amount of snowboard vids and keep up on the action and am not aware of this trick ever being done on a snowboard (l 270 on r 270 out)

each sport has its own pros and cons because they are anatomically different. I imagine its far easier to ride switch on a snowboard than on skis especially when you start doing right and left spins and have to look over the opposite shoulder. with that said skiers can generally carry more speed. my brothers a fair bit smaller than me, but always starts lower for jumps. I personally think skiers grabs are a lot sicker, especially when combined with corks and some of the off-axis stuff.

i ski and snowboard i think they both have steeze. i think there are some things on rails snowboarrding like back lips and nollie front boards and stuff have tons of steeze, but skiers can do better switchups and stuff so really there both just as good the styles are gunna be similar no mater what cuz were all doing the same rails and just trying to do what we feel looks cool.

a pretzel on a board does not mean it has to be a noseslide, but yes a pretzel on a board is just 270 out. you either 270 to danish or 270 to pretzel. il try and find the video but it is possible on a board to rightside 270 on and leftside 270 off or vis versa.
