450 on pretzle 630 out... can it progress more than this? I mean theres lip spins on but still ive seen a number of people Lip 450 pretzle 2 out.. Give it a few years and what is going to be new? lip 630 pretzle 630? both ways? that shits kind of getting borring. I think we need to start looking at what snowboarders are doing. Like think about this. On to an urban style setup, Switch on(tails over) - tail press - blind 2 out. Presses have been ignored for too long, its time to bring them back. They are hard as fuck and should get more props.

I agree, my friends are always saying how skiers on rails is lame cause all they do is spin. Ive tried presses on boxes, and even that is pretty fuckin hard. POWER OF NS I BESEECH YOU, lets make this a goal for next year as far as rails go.

yup. I want to see just a nice nollie on with a press to tail bonk out, maybe with a spin. I am so tired of 270 on and off all day, thats why I don't really like park or urban skiing in movies.

where is that antoine gangier video of him pressing the shit out of all his urban rails sooooo sick.

ive been trying to figure out how the fuck skiers would go about making a 50-50 look dope. i dont think itll happen.

everyone always backs it, and it has never and will never happen. kids do "snowboard tricks" but they are usually pretty straightforward and warmup stuff.

hey ill throw a tailpress on this box just so people know im down with snowboarding then move onto my 450 triple switchup. finish doing the presses boys and lets start doing some real tricks!

i made this thread 4 years ago and rails have not progressed since then.

i board, and i think presses on skis look sooo much sicker than on boards.

i completely agree that presses should be the next big thing.

haha we're trying dane, we had this conversation the other day.

best trick in the entire world for a down rail:

nollie blunt bagel.

and if you guys care, find my edit from this year, i had a nosetap/drag to front2.

travis reds 270 to nose press in the denver segment of realtime was one of the coolest tricks i saw last year. i like the idea of adding presses into tech tricks also nollies and buttering on have been done but they really hasnt been explored much i think itd be cool to see that

i really wish that skiing could incorporate think thank urban into films. thats the sickest urban. just creative shenanigans.

i saw u in whis everytime i was up there, you have pretty creative skiing, i like the presses and taps and shifty's out of rails

"Head for the Hills" form Meathead Films will have some weird lines and stuff sort of similar to think thank. Trailer should be out shortly...

you say "no rollerblade grinds" but you want to be more like snowboarders?

ok snowboard rail tricks are ummm....IMPOSSIBLE ON SKIS! the fact that your feet are separate negates the possibility of doing snowboard rail tricks! skiing is more like inline than it is snowboarding or skateboarding. like it or not kids, it's a fact.

i will ask you this question again, "why do you have this huge desire to be like snowboarders?" if you want to be like a snowboarder, go buy a snowboard setup!

I don't want to look like anybody. I just want to do lots of cool tricks. maybe we just want to be like surfers and skateboarders? or maybe even bmx? or just a large combination. I find my influence everywhere. even though I still ski 90% of the time.

ya the main kid i ride with is a boarder and he loves seein presses he always tells me to do them but i usually dont haha so maybe ill start tryin them more often

How can you even say this? Rails have progressed a ton just not a lot of its super popular yet. People will be doing more nollies on, during and off rails. Nollie taps onto rails will become bigger also. A prime example of someone whos doing something different on rails is Brady Perron kids done more stylish and creative tricks on rails then anyone else.

i remember the first year i started paying attention to park skiing a photo in either freeze or freeskier of a skier doing a huge nosepress on a urban rail at mammoth. i havent seen that photo for probably 4 years but i still can remember how sick i thought it was.

Just because people are stoked on how snowboarders have decided to manipulate there entire boards on presses and butters. doesnt mean that they are "slobbering on snowboardings dick".

Asian Allen and everyone who has been doing " roller grinds", major props. I get super stoked when i see people with different styles on the hill. especially because you guys seem to get a lot of hate.

I have heard a ton of people saying how its nice to see different styles and diversity in the sport, this is in pretty much every tight pant debate. but style should be mainly decided while you ski. not how you look while you hang in the cafeteria

IPeople are still too scared to ditch the norm for their video segments/promos/comp runs...blah blah.

Skiers aren't the only people to blame in this situation thought:

It's movie producers for putting the same shit in their movie for 4 years (pretty much calling out every movie company here, don't have any in my mind that don't do this).

It's the judges for giving people first place for a trick that was overplayed 3 seasons ago or is just pointless (think it was rails to riches, a lip 630 rail tap or something won, that's just a 720 in my opinion, it was a RAIL comp not a jump comp...do a fucking rail trick for fucks sake lol).

It's the sponsors wanting people who are the same as everyone instead of someone that sticks out enough to market the product (why did no one pick up Heed until now? Why do all those Colorado skiers have so many sponsors? When I think of someone like Matt Walker I can't even think of who he's sponsored by, I wouldn't be able to tell you).

I'll never really get it but I don't see anything changing anytime soon, a group of people that actually matters in skiing need to step up and show everyone whats up.

PS. LOL at future "OMG YOU ARE HATING AT MATT WALKER" posts. Don't be so defensive and serious about skiing. Talk about the topic more no one gives a shit about your sucking up.

When people say 'no rollerblade tricks' they are getting ass-raped by blading so hard, they're bleeding out their eyeballs.

Why would you limit your sport just because some tech, hard, fun, and steezy tricks look like a similar trick in a different sport, that happens to not be cool right now? Fucking stand up for yourselves and skiing, and don't be such little girls because some snowboarder called you a blader once.

i dont anything about you or if you seriously think that,,,,,,,,heres some shit for you to laugh at.

i am skateboarder and have been for almost 10 years, but roller blading is G. the ratio of thugged out motherfuckers who rollerblade is, higher than any other sliding sport! the spot i grew up skating at the in liners were so cool, just ill people in general, this one time these hoodrats (the park was 10 min away from the projects) came to the park and started fucking with me and eventually dipped with my board, one of the rollerblade cats saw me w/o my board and was like yo harold weres your board?? i explained, and 10 minutes later he came back with it! rollerbladers and rollerblading is not gay! in any way shape or form.

and to the person who said rollerblading and skiing are more similar, i totally disagree i think skateboarding and skiing have alot more in common strangely enough.

like i expressed befor i have the utmost respect for aggressive in line skating. i feel that skateboarding and newschool skiing are more similar in that the basics are alot harder to get, my best friend in h.s. was a gnarly in line skater and forced me to try it once and on the first day i was able to do basic sols, on curbs that took me a year of hard work and eating shit to 50-50. same with snowboarding first day snowboarding i was able to link turns, ride switch and land a 360 were as with skiing it took alot more time. also on a snowboard both your feet are attached to your board the same way your attached to skates, were as in skiing and skateboarding your feet have alot more freedom. also look at the amount of girls who skateboard vs. rolling and the amount of girls who ski vs. board. just the way i see it, not saying im rite.
