Snowboarding is Steezier then Skiing!

There are two kinds of snowboarders. the first is that small group of riders the do it, because they love the sport, the adreniline rush, having a good time, being out in nature. they can wach a ski, bike, blade film and still be saying "sick dude, did you see that".

The second kind of snowboarders are those fags that do it because its cool and will make them more popular. those fags that hate on everything else. those fags that can't do 1/10 of the things they say they can do and have done, those pussy that talk shit more than they ride. those guys give a terrible name to snowboarding in the eyes of everyone else.

I hope most people can see past the faggot snowboarders and realize that its a sweet thing to do.

Snowboarding is a sweet sport, just as much as skiing.
 
boarders got us on rails, but i think we have them in the air. the fact that we can cross our skis, and takeoff/land completely backwards is ill. presses on boards are so fuckin dope though.
 
Agreed. You guys can move your feet so that gives you a huge advantage. That octo-grab that gagnier just made, well I just saw, was so much better than any snowboarding grab. I like presses on boards better though, it looks smoother and more natural.
 
All of my friends snowboard and i have mad respect for them. A lot of skiings style has evolved from snowboarding. You cant say thats not true becuase look how much skiing has progressed in the last 4 years when snowboardings been huge for the last 10 yrs or so.
 
i think if your a really shitty athlete you look better on a snowboard than on skis, but if you are one of the best in the world, skiing is steezier

i really like snowboarding alot though, i think for halfpipe boarding is cooler
 
let me break it down for all you guys and gals

skiing and freeskiing are decently diffrent right? a lot of park/freestylers hate racers and what not and vice versa. also, in snowboarding theres the freesttyle people and the racers, and people that do it 4 times a year and think they are cool when they put down skiiers.well, when everyone says most snowboarders are gay or something, its usually the 4 times a year people they aare talking about, not the chill people. so its more like the freestlye snowboarders and freeskiers get along but the others on both the skiing and snowboarding side hate the other sport becuase they think its cool. this is general and there are some exceptions for both sides.
 
most snowboarders i've talked to like skier jumping style better then snowboard jumping style. but snowboarders on rails def. looks so much cool then skiing. The are so many more tricks to do, without have to resort to one foot nonsence like skiing.
 
Seriously I think the only thing is the time... I mean we're still catching on snowboarding, while evolving in a different direction. I mean there will always be comparaison and it's alright. But for the moment I agree that snowboarding is steezier for the moment except in big mountain lines, but that's because skier's have been doing it for a longer time. Style is the element that you get after getting a trick done over and over and it got developped. I mean look at the presses they already look better than 2 years ago when it started for real. Skier like Charles Gagnier,Corey Vanular,Josh Bibby,Tanner Rainville,etc etc are the proof that we are catching on them I mean before I would have said 1000% that snowboarding was steezier but now with this new generation of super stylie skier It seems that we're about to get the same Level on jumps actually. On the rails we are still a little behind but it's only about the progression of our sport. We evolvle differently, we got way more switch up and stuff and are getting into presses so they are still less steezy but we will get them same I'm pretty sure.
 
it is steezier. that means nothing tho. skiing looks so much cooler because we are able to tweak grabs and spins a lot more and make them look soo much better. are corks also look 100000 times better. so just because boarders can press better mean nothing

and whoever said presses look gay on skis is handicapped
 
The only reason snowboarding looks steezier than skiing is because it's smoother. Skiers have two free feet which can move around at will, and on rails and in the air can look awkward. Snowboarders on the other hand have both feet strapped in, making for a smoother, easier flight than skiing. But if you watch skiing airs with little movement in the air, such as perfect truckdrivers, it looks much better than snowboarding.
 
It depends on what you define "steeze" as. I personally define it as skiers lookin sick on rails and jumps and shit, and I am completely biased because I absolutely love skiing and have never snowboarded once in my life. I think its just a matter of personal preference, and I usually dont mind any snowboarders as long as they're chill and shit and I think snowboarders usually don't mind skiers in the same way. But that's just my opinion.
 
word, boards on rails can get more steezy cuz they can lean that shit out so far and hold it or whatever. but in the air skiin can get more tech cuz there's two boards instead of one. but mikael does some of the steeziest tail presses etc. I've ever seen
 
i agree, we cant hate on another sport bc its different than our own. thats descrimination and im not sure if you guys remember this happening or not, but it happened in the 60s too, but with races instead of sports.

we jsut gotta look at the good in both sports. skiing might be way harder to be stylie at, butonce youre good at it, it might look better, but boarders can press like nobody's business and they also have sick style in their own regard.

jsut because things are different doesnt mean that one is better than the other.
 
you ride with semi pro's? Oh my god you're so legit I think I'm gonna let you controll how I feel. Why should anybody care who you ride with? I don't care if you ride with Tanner Hall and Seth Morrison. In general I agree that boarders have better style than skiiers and style is is a lot more important to boarders than it is to skiiers. Someday skiing will evolve and people will finnaly be able to let go of the spin to win, technicallity is all that matters feel. People just have a hard time doing that but that's what boarding has been about for a long time. Skiing is just finnaly starting to get there. Even if you look back at propaganda, which is like 5 years old nobody has any style it's gross to watch. Maybee he made this thread to bring attention to that. Snowboarding and skiing is pretty much the same thing we have a lot to learn from boarders. Skiing inspired snowboarding and now it's all going the other way. That's the relevence on a skiing site
 
i think its harder to be steezy on skis, your feet move around in the air cause they arent strapped in position, and on top of that you got two poles flailing around.
 
honestly, snowboarding looks steezier on rails and in the air, with the exceptions of good pros like Tanner Hall, Jon Ollson, etc because they can make any air trick look good. But, even those good pros can't look that good on rails, it's just not possible on skis since you can't really press or have any variation.
 
skiing is more of an art, we can do whatever we want with them, and we are still progressing, look at charles ganiers octograb ^^^. thiers so much stuff we can do. i mean ya thier presses look sick...... but thats almost all you can do on a snowboard, snoboarding is tight, i like to watch them get ideas, but on skiis, you can 1000000000000 times more, do w/e, and make it look sick
 
i have always thought that snowboarders, the good ones, have some ill style going for them. in the air some of the shit is soooo smooth...and on rails the presses are dope

but skiing is just as good...who knows maybe boarders think some aspect of skiing is sick too
 
i agree with that aspect that snowboarding is more progressive and steezier but that depends on how you look at it...also some boarders are dicks, some arent we shouldnt judge them all to be dicks when they arent...and is NS really a ski website?, i thought it was for newschoolers? cant that be snowboarding or skating too? or anyone who pushes the sport and tries to get it to progress
 
i think snowboarding looks much better than skiing. i just dont like most snowboarders. probably because most of them are skaters, and skaters in general are just really rude. but i have a few friends who snowboard and i think its awesome. im gonna try it this year. they are just soo steezy. I feel like it sucks that snowboarding is getting so popular
 
dude tons of newschool skiers are skaters too. and freestyle skiing is getting really popular too as it progresses and we start looking better at what we do...
 
skiers have more induvidual style were as snowboarders seems like they all have the same style which in some cases is really good
