Snowboarding gets to many props!

does anyone else feel like that the only thing thats ever on tv that has to do with snow is snowboarding and how everyone thinks its the cool thing to do and how cool the tricks are personally skiing is much harder the tricks look way cooler and are much harder to pull off i really hate when a snowboarder does like a 360 and falls but rides out and calls it a 360 when us skiers fall all our shit falls off with us. i just needed to say that lol!

its true, cause skiing was 'cool' back in the 70s. snowboarding was popularized in the 90s and gave a hip new image for snow sports. nowdays the stereotypical skier is somebody in a tight suit on long straight skis skiing with their ass sticking out, not such a cool image in many peoples opinions.

because of this, there isnt very much media attention given to skiing, cause it wont attract as many viewers as snowboarding. therefore not opening the public eye to the whole newschool movement that has been going on for the past 7 years or so.

I hate how that is, and because of it, even snowboarders I know think it's lame that I ski. There's no convincing them that skiing is just as cool or as fun. Plus, at the mountain when I've wanted to go off some jumps, snowboarders will sometimes say 'this is for snowboarders only' then do some lame trick and fall flat on their face. It's retarded that they can't see that some skiiers are good and can pull off really sick tricks. Sure, some can't *cough*(me)*cough*, but at least we're having fun doing what we want to do rather than following the typical 'cool thing to do'

u guys must all live in 1995 or somthin, the terrain park is a fun happy place where i live, we all hike together and hit the same shit and give each other props, i even sometimes get more props from snowboarders cause they say they dont see too many skiers do shit in the park, but the mountain is just one big happy place, u guys must smell or somthin

snowboarding has got too many fucked images and attitudes sorrounding it, cut all that shit out, you have a very pure fucken clean awesome sport. So fucken sick. a huge fucken clean grab is sooo much more stylier than having two big donger ski planks on.

What's up with all the hate? This sounds like that movie Johnny Tsunami! I ride with mostly snowboarders and they all think it's sick that I ski, I even have a couple trying to switch over.

i like the industry the way it is now, skiings never really on tv, and most ppl dont thnik of a skier a sliding rails or hittin kickers all day so i like it now when i ski around and only see a couple twin tips all day, if skiing was big every kid that skis would wear baggy clothes and have twin tips and people would go off about posers and what not, i like it now, the way it is, where u can be unique

Snowboarding doesn't get enough complete respect because of people thinking like that, If you actually watch a snowboard movie, and look at when people are going switch and how tech some of the shit is you can really appreciate how sick snowboarding is. You are right in a way though, people that really don't know anything about snowboarding except for the fact that they think it's cool, are overrating it to themselves because they really know nothing about the sport.

I'm not saying I don't give props to people who can really rip it up, cause that's sick if they can. You know, it's just like how I dislike little kids who asked their mommies and daddies for the most expensive twintips just so they could look cool standing at the top of the park and falling off chairlifts and pissing their pants going down black diamonds. It usually makes it seem like they're only doing it for image. It's sick if they're trying new stuff and they absolutely love doing it just for their own fun, but it's retarded if they're doing it to look cool. I mean, I'm not the best in the park, but I'm a good all-mountain skiier, and I do it for my own fun. So if snowboarders are out there ripping it up for the pure love of snowboarding, then fine, I don't have a problem. If they're gunna act like complete assholes cause snowboarding is the 'cool' thing and skiing just isn't 'cool' enough, then I do have a problem.

Yeah, I love being unique. I can dress however I want and wear beanies and shit and if anyone tells me i'm posing skating or something I just tell them 'i'm dressing like a skier so fuck off and go follow the trends'. And all the snowboarders at my mountain think they're hot shit because they can do an indy. Cause that is tough stuff. I'm not saying all boarders suck, but at my mountain they do.

I agree with that theangelicrider whatever, i have many many snowboarder friends, they are stoked as when i grease a rail in front of them haha they love skiing as much as snowboarding, same with me.
