Snowboarders?

Alot of people talk about how snowboarding is gay, and how skiing would have changed by itself if there wasn't snowboarding, and also that snowboarders are gay. I don't know about you, but skiing would be no where without snowboarding. As hard as it is to recognize that its true. Just look at the path our movies are taking, and the style of our tricks and the type of tricks we are doing. All snowboarding moves are super stylie spins and simple but super complicated tricks. Skiing is going in that direction. No matter how cool a d-spin 1260 is, a unnatural corked 540 oppisite grab is so much better. So much more style. Skiing is still so many year behind snowboarding, that we still have so many years till it plateaus. And to those of you you say snowboarders are fags. Fuck You. I have met just as many skiers on the hill as snowboarders that are cocky pieces of shit, that put other skiers and snowboarders down. Its fuckin gay. Not to many in Whistler, but at Cop in calgary there are to many to count. I ski with snowboarders whenever I go, I look to snowboarders on info on how to preform a trick. They are just as cool as skiers and deserve ample respect. As do we. Skiing has came so farin the last 5 years, and has a huge life ahead of it. By saying snowboarders are gay and that they suck, its like telling your mentor they are stupid and they suck. They are the reason we have gotten this far. If you look at the pro level, they are all friends. Its just some cocky little shits that are talking bad. Same with skiing. I hate skiers just as much as I hate snowboarders, and I like snowboarders, just as much as I like skiers. There is just a small number on both sides, which are assholes and will relize soon enough, the shit they are talking isn't getting them far, and they will shut-up.

 
snowboarding is actually pretty cool if ya ask me. i wish i was better at it...but the only snowboarders i dont like are them little ones that think skiing sucks because its not snowboarding...'the cool thing to do'

Dude, you say you've met some cool snowboarders. That's all right. I have as many fingers i have on my hand as their are cool snowboarders. I ski on teh Park atSnoqualmie, cause the runs usually arent good. I triend to pull a 360 back cross, screwed it up, and slid down hundred and twenty feet. My gear went all over the whole run. One snowboarder got a pole for me, and that's the nicest thing a boarder has ever done for me. Also, skiing tricks are totally different than snowboarding tricks. Sure, we got spins from the boarderes. That's it!!! Snowboarders don't have two boards, it's just not the same as skiing. We're all entitled to our own opinion, but skiier are a lot nicer on the slopes i go to. Boarders arent.

 
what are you talking about, i ski with snowboarders all the time and enjoy it. snowboardders are awsome people and our tricks do come from theres, how the fuck did we get the names, and without them we wouldnt have parks on rails, shit man pull your head out of your ass, snowboarders are cool and are there to have fun on the hill along with us, most of my friends snowboard. we allways push eachother, it helps. without snowboarding there probably wouldnt be newschool skiing. snowboarders are cool, go home.

All my friends snowboard with me. We have a friendly rivalry that helps us progress together. We joke that snowboard is easy, so they go out there a stomp super hard trick. They tell us skiers were stupid and should leave the park so we go and try to show them up. We all know its all a big joke, we watch each others movie together. We love both sports because we love the mnts and the snow, even if you ride a different type of snowtool. Some people have had bad experience with snowboarders b/c newschool skiing is relativly new, I know just 2 years ago in the midwest, snowboarders would always be yelling skiers to leave the park b/c they should be racing or something. All that is changing now. I like the (for the most part) friendly rivalry. Its true snowboarding helped skiing progess a lot faster, but it would of came around even with out snowboarding. Basicly, respect both sports, we're all doing it for a common love, riding down a snow covered hill!

meh, i hardley ever get shit from snowboarders, at least i dont when i am skiing, maybe at school i do as a joke. i do get it on the hill occasonally by really sucky snowboarders with there foursquare kahkies and forum bored and they are like skiers suck, but shit, who is going to care what someone like that thinks, it is amusing to show someone like that up too.

if somone were to offer me a new issue of TWsnowboarding or Freeze, i would take the TWS fro sure...snowboard is way cooler to look at than skiing...im not saying skiing looks bad buy i love the style snowboarding has...i would never snowboard personally because i love the feeling of skiing.

in my mind were the same kinds of people who like the same shit, we just do it slightly differently. it sucks when skiers and snowboarders are bashing eachother. You can relate to a snowboarder more, cause you can talk about the slopes and sttuff w/ a boarder or a skier, and it dont matter whats on your feet

also newschool skiing is, in a different sense, what almost all boarders do, and most skiers dont, so like we have a good relationship with a snowboarder because we like the park and pipe like them. yea man, snowboard mags are tight, you shuold see the things they are doing on them, holy shit, its insane.

the only thing constant is change. what is cool one year will be dumb the next. In 10 years skiboarding will probably have a revival and skiing and snowboarding will all be gay. you never know what will happen or what would have happend.

 
hey, Im not in to bashing at all, The group I ski with is me and another skier and 2 boarders and we all love the park and pipe. We don't care what ya use to slide across the snow on! As long as u got good style and have fun doin it!

 
snowboarders are really cool unless they don't respect us skiiers. there's the people that are really cool and good to ski w/ and they think you're really good and all but the people that think skiiers ruin the hill and ALL of our tricks came from some form of their tricks....that kinda pisses me off. but in the long run i think they're really tight

Both sports owe a little bit to eachother, snowboarding wouldn't have existed without skiing, and the new movements in skiing probably wouldn't have existed without snowboarding. But I think each sport owes a little to skateboarding. I remember skiing when I was little before I ever knew boarders did rails and I thought it'd be interesting to grind on skis. But as far as terrain parks, shit they were there for the boarders first and we owe them that.

 
i love how the main argument of how we evolved our tricks from snowboarding is that they have the same name.....am i the only one who finds that totally hilarious???? the same name MY GOD NO!!!!

 
oh, and rails on a snowboard are so fucking easy it's not even funny...unless your doing a boardslide i have no respect at all...you see 6 year olds doing rainbows becuase all you have to do is go straight...and it happens automatically...rails on skis look so much better, and are so much more technically demanding

 
If I met some cool snowboarders, i'd change my mind. but when I go skiing, snowboarders are usually just plain assholes, becasue most people on the slopes i go to are just snowboarders. I undrestand that they can be just as cool and cooler than skiers,and i'm sorry if i offended anyone out there.

 
The little hill i used to ski on has been totaly overrun by snowboarders, and that wouldn't be so bad if 99% of them weren't total jerk-offs to the skiers. True, both skiers and snowboarders can be rude, but you have to admit (at least where i live) it's a lot harder to find a cocky skier than a rude snowboarder. Maybe they're jealous of our mad two-board style, i don't know, but most are pretty rotten. I shouldn't talk too much shit cause my best friend snowboards (which shows that some can be nice) but the majority just aren't!

 
I hate it when snowboarders are like, 'you ski, skiing is gay.' now i think thats what snowboarders think of skiers, but they are wrong.

I ski at Snoqualmie, just like MuteMasterX, my friend. Our boarder friend is alright, but it's really hard to find a nice snowboarder at Snoqualmie

 
90 percent of my friends snowboard. when we go up the mountain it doesn't make a difference what boards we are on. it's all about goin out and having a good time with your friends in the mountains. the snowboarders that don't have respect for skiers are just as bad as us skiers who go around hateing snowboarders. no doubt about it, we owe everything that skiing stands for today, to the snowboard movement. snowboarding completely opened the eyes of the entire ski industry and allowed us to do what we do today. if snowboarding never came along who knows what we would be doing now........

i personally think that skiers and snowboarders both help eachother out. the skiers keep pushing us boarders to the next level cause we're constantly trying to be better then the skiers, and the skiers are constantly trying to be better then the boarders. so its kind of like a vicious cycle if you get what i mean. and there are really nice skiers out there too because i know when i was riding i could not get this backside 360 down and there happened to be a skier there that gave me some pointers on how to do it, i thought that, that was really cool and nice of him to do. So really we are all out there to have fun and help eachother out and we shouldn't be bashing eachother over the dumbest thing of whos better then who.
