I'm down w/ snowboarding..cause like we got outta aerial inverts thanks to snowboarders...we decided to throw mistys because boarders did...I'm down w/ boarders, well cool ones at least...some boarders can be complete asses, especially suck ass boarders...they think just cause they board they;re better than me

there r some low people who snowboard, twintip, race ski, mogul ski and any other sport.

so I guess...we're all the same.

i don't care what boarders do or talk shit behind me. i just concentrate on having fun for the not so many hours available on a given day on the slopes.

THEY STAY OUT OF MY WAY AND I'LL STAY OUT OF THEIR WAY. It's too difficult to co-exist on the hill with boarders. different turning patterns, etc.. they may be nice people but sometimes they get in the way

 
i cant snowboard.. i gave myself whiplast and concussion in the same damn fall. and this was after i learned and was becomming good at it.. but im trying to sell my board. anyone interested? 200 with bindings. ahha..

there's nothing wrong with boarders. Theyre a hell of a lot better than the

I usually ski with boarders because most of the guys i know board, and

dont ski. But we really should be out against those rich dicks i was talking

about if we want to rip on someone.

 
I don't know how many of you ride often with a group of people who include snowboarders...but if you have a bunch of rippers with you it can be better than you think. Snowboarders see lines in the mountain differently than others. I wouldn't think of heading out without some of my boys who ride. Plus, it makes for good chairlift conversation if you have them to talk SMACK with all day. Nothing like some 'yo mama' jokes to speed the chair rides up and who better to send them at than a snowboarder?.....Peace

Snowboarding as a whole is deffinatly not a trend, trends don't last this long. But within snowboarding trends are what lead to progression. Right now in snowboarding ya got guys like JP Walker and J2 Ramus bringin it to the rails, doin shit thats hella crazy. Without that trend, how would snowboarding have progressed out of being just in the mountains. The same shit is goin down with skiing, and it was mostly influenced by the same trend in snowboarding. You could even say that skiing (newschool) is even trendier than snowboarding, for its been around about half the time. But in the end you gotta see that trends come and go, but always leave something. Whatever it is only adds to the sport and continues proggresion.

well, skiing and snowboarding ARN'T just two ways to get down the hill. They are completely different sports.

One (snowboarding) is very, very popular in pop culture - therefor you get lot's of the 'Tommy Hilfiger' croud doing it just because it's trendy. And these same people are the ones at school who hate and try to make fun of everyone who isn't like them (the cool people). And since these people snowboard because it's the cool thing to do they must hate skiers because it's not what they do - therefor they MUST hate it and try to make everyone that does it feel bad. They give the sport a bad name. But there are also the people that snowboard because they love the sport and would kill to do it - those are the guys who are usually friends with the skiers and togeather they compliment and push eachother on the hill.

Skiing, even though it isn't as popular as snowboarding, it's been around so long that it's used to having the hill all to itself. Than these snowboards come in and start changing the hill and they have a different image (bringing alternative sports and teenage urban rebel to the hill) so all the old skiers automaticly hate them because they feel threatend so they hate snowboarders.

i have some relatives that are in atlanta and have skied their whole life. now they say they want to snowboard. and you know why? because they thought 'Out Cold' was the coolest movie ever. But if out cold was a ski movie i bet they would be motivated to ski. I think some people just percieve snowboarding as cool because skiing is thought of a racing sport to the general public.

I like my mates that snowboard and I think that snowboarding is sick but in

New Zealand anyway 1/2 of the snowboarders in the terrain park have attitude

problems. They think coz your a skier they can snake you. When my mate Jake

first started skiing the half pipe snowboarders would shout out fuck off skiers.

But things are getting better probably because he's is out jumping them. NZ

even had it's first halfpipe skiing comp this year and he won.

New Zealand is getting a super pipe next year YAY!!!!!
 
like a couple of people have said, our sport has really been influenced by snowboarding, and we have also influenced their sport too. My hill is one of the only hills that doesn't allow snowboards, but on certain days they do, and they are all pretty cool. some people are just asses, and they are like that no matter what sport they do, so if they leave me alone, i'll leave them alone, i don't care...

snowboarding is past the 'trendy stage' they are pretty much established. maybe back in the 80's u could say that, but the sport has com a long way, and no longer can be considered 'trendy'

yeha but lots of things are kid of trendy and cool to do for quite a long time and kind of fade away a bit. Like one day newschool skiing will be the kind of old thing and some bored newschoolers will decide to start doing some sick ballet stuff and everyone will be liek awesome and do all that stuff. I think lots of the younger people are attracted to snowboarding cause of the way it is prtrayed in the media and they are a large part of the annoying people who keep this skiing rivalry going

 
snowboarding is no longer what is trendy, but instead what all of us do is the new 'hip' thing to do, which sucks in my mind. snowboarders gave us teh idea to grab our skis and throw misties and what not, so i think they deserve tons of credit. and i ski with way more boarders than skiers, which kinda sucks, they whatever they do switch i have to also, and sometimes it hurts, but they definetly push me to my limits...my opinions

 
i think snowboarding is a trend no matter how long it goes on for. there are people who got out of skiing because it wasn't free of rules back in the mid 90's but are now coming back to skiing with the development of newschool. i should know, im one of them. wasn't skogen a pro snowboarder who came back to skiing?

i´ve tried snowboarding too. my impression was as most people that i´ve heard from, 'YOU PICK UP SNOWBOARDING A LOT FASTER!'

i would probably have snowboarded if i started when i was 10 instead of six though. now im so glad i´m a skier.

cuz even if you learn to board faster it´s like that sayin' 'a shortcut is more often a longcut' (huh sorry bout the possible bad translation)

it takes longer to be a good skier but then you can evolve much more after that.

Personally i love skiing with boarders, if they're are good. Snowboarders desirve respect, half the tricks skiers do come from snowboarders. Given, at least where i ski, skiers normally do go bigger, well it is easier to carry speed into a jump on skis too though.

word brah, all the boyz I ski with are snowboarders. There just aren't any good skiers my age left over here, except racers who are usually utter and total gimps. So on a snowboard they aren't nearly as fast but they catch up when you're saving them a spot in the lift line and they're totally fun to hang with, rock on dudes. Boarding is phatt.

All my friends from school i ski with are boarders, except this one other guy who skis but he always argues that skiing is better than snowboarding and he tries to drag me into it. I love to ski with my snowboard friends because we complement each other in everthing we do.

Snowboarding is one of the best sports in the world. Without snowboarding skiing would still be all this racing and cristi wedge whatever turns

if you think about it, skiing is actually a racing sport. its been that way for about 100 years in europe. freeskiing isnt really true skiing like you said. its just in the last 5 years been taking off.

i love riding with my boarders, my two riding buddies both snowbaord im down with alll that shit, the only thin i dont like is all this 'yo' stuff man. like shirtless, sleeveless and towles on your head. I noticed olsson had a red bull towlly thing on in axis and while i 100% respect olsson i dont think thats cool, but thats just m y opinion.

the big headphones are cool though hehehehe
