i was watching winter x games classix and they were showing both. fucking snowboarders easily boost twice as high, land ten times better and throw way bigger tricks.

this sux, we looked like a bunch of pussies, so my new years resolution is to spend a lot more time in da pipe this year getting some skillz down

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

Everybody here on NS should start doin tons of pipe then we can all bring our talent to the x-games and the newschoolers.com pipe team (everybody on the site haha) can compete against the snowboarders. with all the talent on this site....we miiightttt..... naw. nevermind.

what are you smokin. have you seen dumount boost a million feet down the pipe? he's 16. crichton's flat 5's are smooth and big. people do switch shit now. turpin's air to fakie at the wsi was real big, and skier switch is f*ing backwards, not just landing with your feet at the wrong angle. candide does his flairs without moving, philou can do mctwist 9's on both sides of the pipe. but yeah, I guess boarders 'own' us in the pipe.

 
the pros go huge on both sides of the coin, there r just more boarding pros and until a skier throws a michealchuck real big, or a double back (which is sick as hell when he does it) we will still be owned, but hey, they had it before us eh!

 
if i was even remotely good at pipe already id join u in improving tons, but i still gotta work on boosting out

The progression is coming crazy fast, by the end of this season, all the pros are working 9's in the pipe and mixing it up,

by the end of the season i bet someone will be doing flair-to-front (flytrap) in the 1/2 pipe

yeah the x games were pretty shabby..but thats on part of the sucky pipe, but the WSI was very promising

A flytrap in the pipe would be gay. Unless it was a joke. But really skiers have like one switch trick in the pipe, like a switch rodeo, I want to see switch spins in the pipe, and not where you start spinning like halfway up the wall.

didn't some skier win a comp in france recently with a switch 10 in the pipe??? skiers are catching up real quick. everyone saw the progression from the x games to whistler. just imagine where it'll go in the next few years and for the 06 olympics. At this pace we'll catch up with boarders in the next year or so. natural and unnatural mctwist 900s back to back???? not much room left for progression there

the boarders have been focusing on pipe a lot longer than skiers have as well...just like everything, we are 2 years behind

I also saw the x-games classic footy of the pipe comps. and the skiers definitly went smaller and shit: big time. however, that was last year. and in this rapidly progressing sport, right now i think that skiers CAN RULE on *one* hit in the pipe. it's just tougher to keep your speed as a skier, one little fuck up, not even a noticible fuck up, and you're done with the run. I agree that skiers are behind in the pipe, but i don't think that it's two years. i hope that it's this year. plus now we've got boyd and turpin throwing quality switch tricks (there's probably more now, or will be by next weekend).

my father made a comment yesterday while watching happy dayz. he said, 'skiers have answered to the snowboarding movement and now rise above.' I then added that an entire halfpipe run is the last element that our cousins still have on us... but not for long.

thank you snowboarders for inspiring us to achieve what some before thought was impossible.

in the x games they wern't going nerly as big as wsi, chrition was going as big as the snowboarders to in the pipe, but they school teh rest of us...

There's no doubt in my mind that skiers will be even with boarders in the pipe in 2, maybe 3 years. The WSI showed us that, if nothing else.

i probably won't ever go as big as DC or the pro snowboarders. getting out more than some snowboarders is fine by me. i just can't wait for the day when skiers can have bragging rights as to who gets the biggest consistant air in the pipe.

 
skis carry more speed across the bottom of the pipe, so therefore skiers should boost higher than snowbaorders. i've never seen any snowboarders boost over 15 feet and have seen plenty of 18-20 foot skiing airs
