why the hell are people telling them to get off the site and shit!? i don't see anywhere on NS that say's 'SKIERS ONLY' if they have such a big deal about it they should get the hell hell out...

rossi has a point though, on the profile thing it asks you whether you r a skier, snowboarder or photographer... but notice how skiing comes before snowboarding... which is the way it should be

snowboarding has their own sites, and while there is no sign here saying NO SNOWBOARDERS, it IS a skiing site. If snowboarders didnt like who turned up in their forums, they could go to one of the other millions of snowboarding sites, but we have only NS, so I dont blame people who want just skiiers on here.

i don't know about most of you guys but i know a lot of good snowboarders that like riding with skiers and respect us like we respect them. there are a great number of them that can go to hell, but i believe that most that don't like us and talk shit about us can't snowboard for shit anyway, and only snowboard because its the cool thing to do.

 
^Yea, I tried snowboarding for a year and I had my share of bruises...so I can't snowboard worth crap. I still give them respect though, except when they try to kick me out of the terrain park because its 'their territory'. That's when I give them shit.

okay children, story time.

yesterday some person was uploading afterbang from me on kazaa. he sent me a few questions over kazaa asking me about snowboarding and my skill level, how often i snowboard and how much i love it. i responded to him, but i told him i ski (fully expecting him to tell me i was gay and skiing sucks and that would be teh end of the convo). surprisingly i was wrong! he acted cool and gave me respect for skiing. it didnt matter to him weather i skied or snowboarded, but the fact that we both (try to) rip the park, and that was cool. i told him that i had fully expected him to rip on skiing and how flaming it is. he said that it shouldt matter weather your on 1 plank or 2, it shouldnt reallly matter. and he was absolutely right. the moral of the story is: while we stereotype all (or many) snowboarders as being arrogant fucks, theyre definitely not.

thing is, ive noticed that a lot of skiers want recognition by snowboarders cuz we think that theyre judging us, and we ski partially to gain respect and be noticed by snowboarders and thats just not right...i know its been said before but ski for yourself

as a snowboarder, i can say that i respect skiiers that respect snowboarding.

some of my best friends are skiiers, and actually suggested this site to me.

to love skiing but hate snowboarding is to deny that which comprises your sport.

without snowboarding, would any skiier have ever hit a rail? without snowboard

movies to use as a reference, what would ski movies look like? it even goes

into style and tricks. Snowboarders and skiers can coexist. For example,

Proof, Parkrats, My People, the new oakley movie, all these movies have skiiers

and snowboarders. Dont hate, appreciate.

i find a lot of the time, at least in jackson, that the good snowboarders respect skiers, but the ones who aren't as good say that it sucks. Also, most of the snowboarders that rip on skiing used to be skiers themselves.

yah,t hat's how it is alot, snowboarders that suck give skiers crap but ones that are good respect it and stuff...mostly i think that skiers can be just as much assholes to snowboarders as they can be to us, we just dont see it on this site cuz its skier dominated, which i think is a good thing.
