SNOWBOARDERS HELP

So you say technine blows, then offer something equally shitty in Libtech? or a gimmick board like the Gnu park pickle? i dont think you know what you are talking about.

OP, Burton may be about as main stream as it gets but they make good products. I got a buddy who's riding on the Burton Love at the moment and he is very stoked on it, definitely something to check out. Stepchild also makes pretty solid boards. I would avoid cheater boards unless you enjoy getting made fun of.

right now i am ride a DC and to be 100% honest it is the best board that i have bought.. i have had many snowboards..Ex lib tech, burton, rome, capita and for sure the DC is by far the best that i have owned.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you know what you are talking about...

Don't even get me started about Burton...

I would like to hear what makes Lib's or GNU's 'shitty'...GNU is def not a 'gimmick', it is another division of mervin manufacturing and although they share similar technology, they are different snowboards. they use different woods in their cores etc. the list goes on. I personally think they are some of the best quality made snowboards out there. If it matters, I have worked at snowboard shops for the past 7-8 years.

In respect to the original question, get the $400 snowboard. You can find decent used binders for pretty cheap, but a $400 snowboard is going to ride a lot better than a $250 one. I can promise you that.

It also depends on what kind of board your looking for, soft and jibby or stiffer for jumps. For soft jibby boards I would suggest the Rome Artifact, Ride kink, or Arbor Draft. For something a bit stiffer but is still not 2x4 stiff I would say Lib Tech Skate Banana, or maybe last years Rome Agent. My brother has a Artifact and a Draft and they are both a ton of fun to ride and not super noodley, but I never hit anything bigger than a 25-30 ft jump with them. More into little jibs and stuff when I snowboard.

i would highly reccomend capita boards. super super solid comstruction and they have a board for any kind of riding style, from stiff hard chargin cambered boards to the flexy snap it in half reverse decks.

In terms of brands, Technine is not your best bet. They dont make the nicest boards or bindings and you wont get the most bang for your buck. Yes, Burton does make some nice boards but I dont think that theyre nicest.
I would have to agree with some of the postings on here that GNU and Lib Tech are both sick companies. I rode a GNU Carbon High Beam for a few years and absolutely loved it. It wasnt too much of a park board but it was amazing all over the rest of the mountain. If youre looking for a park specific board I would recommend the GNU Park Pickle or if youre looking for something that will perform well everywhere you cant go wrong with the Lib Tech Skate Banana.
As for other companies, Forum makes some pretty sweet boards (the Youngblood ChillyDog will perform extremely well everywhere) and the Scallywag and Manual will be great in the park. Ive heard that Rome makes some pretty sweet boards (for all-mountain and for park) but I have never ridden one so I can't really comment on that.
For boards, I'd say you cant go wrong with the GNU or Lib-Tech and you can even find something that'll fit you well from Forum.
For bindings, I've only ridden Burtons (Customs and Missions) and I absolutely loved both of them.
Hope that helps.

i ride a solomon thats great, but i love rides too. the best board $400 is prob a libtech or gnu

theyre similar to libs since they have the mag patent from them, but theyre much more durably made and you can tell more work had gone into them. theyre more "hand made" rather than machine made. its easy to see in the graphics (dope) easy to feel in the core when it still has pop 3 or 4 seasons later.

My friend is a rep for them and from what i understand from the boarders i know they are really legit and i'm pretty sure they are cheap too! They have sick top sheets i know that!

Park Pickle is the best board I have ever ridden. Used one at homewood in some ultra deep, and rode it in the park. Thing is sick.
