Snowboarders don't think skiers can press

The other day I was talking with some of my roommates (I live with 15 snowboarders and one other skier) about the pros and cons of skiing vs snowboarding on rails. Skiers have a much easier time gripping/spinning, but snowboarders can press. I'm not saying skiers can't press or snowboarders can't spin, just saying some tricks are easier done on a snowboard than on skis, and vice-versa. I tried to find a video of a skier pressing, and I mean pressing by snowboard standards. Not sitting down on a rail, pressing the last half, or sliding with the rail a few inches in front of or behind their bindings (no disrespect, those all look dope). I mean a real press, like at least a good six inches away from the binding, locked on for the entirety of the rail. I couldn't find one, and was wondering if anyone knew of such a video. I really want to be able to show my roommates that skiers can press, but i'm afraid that's not the case. Theoretically it's possible, but I've never actually seen it.

Short Version:

Show me a video of a skier pressing an entire rail, so I can show my snowboarder friends that skiers can press.

Beautiful well thought out story thanks for that. Keep getting gifts even after Xmas. Anyway, just tell them type Harlaut in youtube and that should shut their poop tickling dick door lips.

Just search "tail press on a rail." there are soooo many skiers that can press as good or better than most snowboarders.

This isn't fucking pressing, it's nose/tail/sliding, well, maybe occasionally it's pressing but 99% of the "presses" on rails are simply slides.

Well yeah, obviously. I just used the term "press" to describe any sort of slide that is not under the bindings, such as blunts or nose/tail slides, or actual nose/tail presses. Most people seemed to understand that. My bad if you didn't pick up on it.

haha yeah, it's an old manor that was a frat house for a short time. It's all apartments now, and everyone that lives there skis or rides

Yeah, those aren't presses, those are slides.

Presses for us would only really work on boxes and stuff. Like jack borland when he nosepresses boxes or henrik/phil when they do that stuff too.

sadly, we just can't get the same kind of thing as boarders...

yeah definitely not

I made a bet with a boarder bro that if I could tailpress the entire run, he'd buy me a cookie. Thought I pulled a Kevin Ware, but that cookie was worth it.

Yeah with most skiers like this idiot I'm quoting that think this is what constitutes a press, I don't blame your frat bros not knowing that skiers can actually press.

He already does it on boxes and his nose press to blind 2 kinda ends up being a sw 50 nose press. A matter of time.

Skiers can't press in all the situations that boarders can, because boarders can pretty much press any rail.. But skiers presses look sick when there's a feature that works for that!

its a leverage thing. on a snowboard, you have 2 feet one one board, so you can use your weight (leaning) to get your nose or tail up, AND pull up on one foot while pushing down on the other. on skis you have one foot in the middle of the ski, so theres no leverage, nothing to pull up with, so ya gotta do it ll with weight/leaning.

alright i kinda get where your friends/most snowboarders are coming from when talking about tail slides and noseslides/nosepresses tailpresses cause for the most part they are still a gimmick trick in skiing

for some reason skiers love doing tailslides and noseslides for photos way more than they do for video

whenever you check the front page of ns there is a photo of some kid doing a "tail slide" over a rainbow or some shit sitting on his bindings (or noseslide a down rail) but slides/presses are few and far between in edits

there are a lot of slide variations that have been done and are being done on downrails and handrails that I think look way better than a lot of the shit people are filming but noone seems to them other than casabon. i think natural and unnatural slide press variations are when skiing on handrails looks best personally

truth is 270 pretzel on a downrail or nosebutter 270 or whatever is a lot easier than a good tail danish and looks way more impressive

and god damn i hate when kids do nollies out of skier slides. if you wanna nollie out of your trick on a handrail do a noseslide.
