Snowboard jacket for skiing. Yay or nay?

the i think the main reason you should buy a ski coat is to suppurt the ski industry.but in the end snowboard jacket are usaly cheaper and theres alot more to choose out of.

when a ski company finally takes the dick out of their ass and makes some legit sizes I'll buy ski outerwear (other than saga)

i dont think it really matters just as long as you like it...

but come to think of it.. the other day there was a snowboarder

at my mountain in the G-Suit and i dont even think he rode in

the park... hmmmm... but he liked it, just go with what you like :-)

force the ski industry to make the shit you want em to make, at prices you can afford. buy what you think looks rad.

uh ski clothes are sick and many options are affordable? you think your cheap snowboard clothing is quality? How many pairs of your ronin pants were put togetherin a huge factory , est. 8,000 quality and numbers like that don't mix to well. PLUS the money your spending is goign to help make the careers of snowboarders not skiers ?

Snowboarding Jackets are just as good, i like the more baggy fit, most ski jackets are really tight in fit, but i agree some snowboard jackets are gay as fuck

i rock grenade pants, grenade doobie bros, and a pale yellow jacket w/ blue plaid inside of it that i got from the DI (thrift store steez). I had a good northface shelll but it left it in one of my friends cars over winter break in slc...

I rock Grenade pants (which kindof suck but look ok) and a Bonfire jacket (which is sick).

Got it cheap, and realistically the only ski company outerwear I could buy if I wanted to is Spyder.

avalaan pants and columbia parka.. I dont care.

If the price is right I'll go for ski stuff but if snowboard stuff of the same quality is less then i'll probably go for that. at the end of the day it comes down to what you're comfortable wearing and what looks good.

In saying that i'm not an outwear whore so my gear usually lasts a couple of seasons, getting pants one year and jacket the next

yeah it doesnt matter, i mean some of the ski specific stuff is sick but most people will just get a jacket they like even if it is made by snowboarding company

When a ski company makes affordable, good looking outerwear I will buy it. I got a beautiful foursquare and special blend suit last year for $250. I don't really want a new suit now, I like it so much. That was the way my last 2 suits bought from ski companies should have been.

this is my first season with all snowboard outerwear, and i did it because i found the best deals on them. foursquare pants and bonfire jacket. ive always been rockin orage and obermeyer though in past seasons

What exactly makes a "snowboard jacket" different from a "ski jacket"? Nothing. Which is why this was a pointless question. Wear what you think looks good, what suits your needs in terms of quality and construction, or support a brand you want to support. Those are the only 3 things that really matter.

No man dont wear a snowboard jacket, snowboarding is evil remember? OF COURSE YOU CAN WEAR A SNOWBOARD JACKET! Half the time snowboard shit is way sicker anyway.

orage is sick, sure, so is saga (if you get it), same with ldc. but to be honest im wary of the small companies thanks to all teh problems they have, and orage is definitely not cheap. i can by a ronin suit from a year or two ago brand new, for half the cost. it looks sick, and is awesome quality. i dont care if its not going to help skiers. if they want me to buy skier made stuff, make stuff i want to buy and can afford.

Little known fact:

Trying to ski in snowboard clothing causes infertility. Spontaneous combustion is also a probable scenario.

Who cares I see so many kids on the hill rocking burton that are riding on their planks it doesnt matter I have special blend pants nicka
