Snowboard for a $200,000 Salary or Ski for No Money at All

I was just thinking about this question the other day and thought maybe NS should here it too. Basically would you rather snowboard for a $200,000 salary a year (American Dollar), and do it the rest of your life as a career. Or just ski as a passion with no money invlived at all. I think this may pose a tough question to a lot of NSers. This question is primarily geared to the skiers who are htting the slopes more times in the winter than they see their girlfriend (figure of speech), guys who are fresh outta school with no cash, as well as every TRUE skier here on NS. So if you wanna be a bording bitch like Kass or MFM, take the money. What's your answer?

Mine was no, i believe and love skiing to take the money, plain and simple.

Answer UP NS!!

I would snowboard for a salary..skiing is ill and snowboarding is too, but I would much rather get paid 200,000 and slide on snow just a different direction..and yeah, my gf got mad last winter about seeing the snow more than her, but they jus gotta understand.

I have to say that for 200,000 $ a year I would do snowboard comp and all this shit but for all the rest of my freetime I would hit sick jumps and big rails in SKI!! Because I think that ski is more style

bullshit

that question is a no brainier, snowboard for the rest of my life sat $200k. money is money. its still sliding snow. And there is nothing that says you can't pull out the skis every once in a while. I mean look at pep, he is paid to ski, but that does not keep him from breaking out the snowboard.

this is a stupid question, (no offense to the guy who made this thread).if your a skier, you'll ski because that is what you love and that is what keeps you going. Who the fuck cares if you make 200K a year, if you truly love skiing it wont be about the money, and anyways, if your a profesional skier and your entering big comps you will be making some money, especially with sponsers, not 200,000 dollars for sure but the way skiing is progressing and more comps popping up everywhere, the money pot is growing, not all snowboarders make 200k a year, the pros do, and dumont, thall, pk, sammy, egc. all those guys who are competing are making some money too
think about it, if you love skiing, you'll find a way to do it

just because kass and mfm suck at life doesn't mean you can't snowboard without becoming a bitch.

i'd take the money and board, no questions asked.

Just cause theres gay snowboarders doesn't mean there arent really cool ones. skiing has a lot of tools in it too (dumont) but its really opinion. id snowboard for the money.

see, i truly love skiing, but sliding on snow is sliding on snow to me. 200k is A LOT of money and it would make your life 10x easier. It would be about the money. With 200k you can ride places you could have only dreamed about not making any money.

I fucking love skiing, but man, you can't do shit without money. $200,000 a year is fucking absurd, especially for a job like that. I'd do it

Board for money, skiing isn't about what i have under my feet its the feeling i get after i do something challenging, that shortness of breath, but your not tired, that cold burn in your lungs, and the accelerated heart beat. for me that is skiing, and if i can get the same feeling on a snowboard then so be it i would be able to live a much better life 200k a year

uhh, if you do it for 20 years that's 4 mil man.

I snowboard and ski, and they're both just as much fun. It doesn't really matter how you ride as long as its fun. So to answer the question I'd snowboard

most definitely snowboard. 200g's is a lot. its still sliding rails and flying off jumps. snowboarding no question. snowboarding can be sick too, watch mike benson's edits

i love skiing its my life but if i was just as good at snowboarding and my skils just transfered over and i got payed 200,000 to snowboard which is prety sick almost as sick as skiing i would def take that

Take it how you will, personally I don't think skiing and snowboarding are mutually exclusive. I used to board then I switched to skiing a few years ago. They have a lot more in common than not.
I would definitely be boarding for $200k

I guess I dont care about money that much.

If I won the lottery today I'd just ski whistler, NZ and europe everyday for the rest of my life.

Whats the sense in having money if you cant do what you want?

Ski. I can make money doing other things and be happy. I don't need 200k a year to be satisfied in life.

that being said, you would have to be extremely good at snowboarding to get a 200,000 dollar salary, which means you would most likely have a passion for it. so its a hard question because im not at the point in my snowboarding career (never ridden one) where i could say if i like it or not, but getting paid for being on snow would be dope

I'd snowboard for the 200 Gs, but I'd ski on the DL most of the time.....you never said how much we had to snowboard.

Well truth is here, if you're making 200k as a snowboarder you're probably damn good at snowboarding and probably really enjoy it, just as much as you would enjoy skiing now. The answer is obvious, who wouldn't want to make 200k a year doing something they are good at and more than likely love?

Why dont you think for just a few seconds? If you were good enough to get $200, 000 a year salary from Snowboarding, wouldn't that also imply that you'd rather snowboard anyway? Likewise, if you have a passion for skiing, like to ski for fun, and give back to the industry and such, wouldn't that also imply that you'd rather ski?
Or are you referring to a hypothetical person, perhaps one who has never seen snow, doesn't know the difference between skiing and snowboarding, and is offered a choice between the two?
Bizarre thread Joey..
