Snowboard bindings on skis

word theyd be mad big but way comfortable, i dont understand why mad people think it would ruin you knees because snowboarders are fine with their knees

i haff tryed it wuz KEWL, mat3!!!!

i luff teh skibirds thett half um all ons tha topps of tham.

YESH!!!

soes, in clozinges: HAHAHA! lough at skiZ wiff tham snowbird bindiers!!1

it would not work. ski boots are hard plastic for a reason. the snowboard boot would be wayyyyyy to soft and would not respond to anything. it would be almost impossibe to carve and stuff

not that im a snowboarder, but i think the reason snowboarders dont hurt their knees as much is because of the board, not the bindings. ie, their legs are fixed in place, not moving independently, so there isnt quite the potential for legs and knees to get all tweaked.

but they can hurt thier knees if they dont have both feet in the bindings, (whenu come off the chiarlift)

For perfect powder sticks:

get two snowboards

get ski bindings

mount them on the snowboards

BYAAAAHHH!!!

holy crap kids are dumb. snowboard bindings dont provide any real lateral support. say by by turning.

Not only would they not turn for shit, but if you fell they wouldn't release and you'd be totally fucked. Do it!

posting on a reallly really really really reallly really really really really old thread but hell i am most likely going to do it.

i remember seeing snowboard bindings on snowblades like ten years ago. seems like a great way to break your ankles if that's what youre into

does no one take their ACLs into consideration these days? a snowboard binding cant release, you would fuck the shit out of your knees on the first major digger you take.

ski bindings on a snowboard on the other hand........

pics from an april storm in 2010 that left only one run open on the mountain due to slide danger.

took 2 kid snowboards, turned the bindings straight, and put one on each foot. Not fun at all, pretty sketchy, and really just a novelty

I have Toben Sutherland (one of the canadian team coaches) shredding around on rocker 2s with snowboard bindings when he is coaching for comfort.

rocker bindings were developed to test the idea of a more naturally moving ski boot. the technology that allows the "snowboard bindings" to work is close to impossible to fabricate into a ski boot. After the tests and patent applications we came to find that no ski boot company was willing to develop any new ideas for such a small market.we didnt give up, we used all research and development to give new life to the old raichele design ski boot. by adding a suspension mechanism to the rear of the boot, relying on a piece of plastic banging your shins is a thing of the past.

ski boot proto release in november

every body is talking about lateral support and shit think about the over hang you wouldn't be able to carve without the binding catching

if youve ever tried to snap in with like just normal shoes, or drug your foot on asphalt while longboarding, youll know this is a fucking stupid idea

i know the coach of the Canadian Slopestyle Team has a snowboard binding setup with his skis but does not use them for anything other than side slipping through the park.

let me put it this way, if your skis don't release you will either blow your knee completely or you will end up with a spiral fracture in your femur.

THIS IS A BAD IDEA!!!!

One of the coaches at the Mammoth Grand Prix last season had some snowboard bindings mounted on Solomon Rocker 2's. He says you have to make sure that the binding is the same width as the ski, but other than that it works well. He says he mainly uses them for coaching since he has to stand around so much, but they're fun to ride on small park features and when the snow is nice and soft (pow/slush)
