Snowbird

Im going out to snowbird and alta the second week of march and I was looking for some tips on were the best place to build a bc jump at snowbird is. I have already been to alta so I know that place pretty well but any extra help will be apreciated.

There are tons of spots at the bird but patrol tends to get pissy about jumps being built by anyone but their park crew

the park isnt crazy, but can be fun if the skiing is crappy. as for a jump, i would suggest flagstaff or grizzly gulch

yeah at snowbird there really arent that many great places to build a jump out of bounds...if you go up the road to alta mountain across form alta(flagstaff) has some good stuff along with grizzly gulch...which the road just dead ends into. park is cool somedays

There are enough in-bounds cliffs to keep ya busy in the air. Check out the bookends on the backside

A little. The pipe is finally rideable and they've got a couple of sick rails.

There are some cat tracks across minear basin, we were just launching off those, you could definetly build a kicker and then gap it. I'll be at the bird in a week and a half, it will sure beat midterms.

thats cool

'kevin whyed nils pull you out?' 'Cuz i was touchin bitches.' 'No seriously why did he put scott in for you.' 'Scott doesn't touch bitches.'

All right ill check mineral baisen out. Im so stoked I have 6 and a half days of skiing there. Also do u think i will be able to bring my bc shovel on the plane or will security take it.

put it in your ski bag with your poles, you wont have a problem. yea mineral basin is dope, i'll try and get online while im there and upload pics.

If you want to go inbounds at Alta ride supreme all the way up and take the traverse out to Catherine's area go all the way out till you see a wide open field that is steep and has tons of snow great spot hit it myself also if you ride up the chair that goes off the side of the mineral basin and stay to the left tons of spots with little trafic

you want to build a bc jump, but you want to stay inbounds. Nice oxymoron jackass. BC doesn't mean outside of the park, it means outside of the resort

IM there now!.. Its AWSOME!

Just came back from a hike, fresh powder!!

But.. the snow is out to much, and the snow is getting heavyer :( thats shit!

Oooowh well, If u whanna build a bc jump, why go to snowbird? just hike to grizly gulch

1. Its free 2. Its a famous place for jumps ITS AWSOME! 3. well, if u r lucky u might bump in to some pros that can teach u some.. Tanner was there 2 days ago.

ArmadaBC gave some good advice where to build an inbounds kicker. I usually build a kicker at the spot he described in Mineral Basin. There are a bunch of little roll overs there that make for good kickering and no one seems to go there to ruin your work.

when I siad bc jump I ment the type o jump as in a chease wedge with a powder landing not literaly a jump in the bc. Sorry if I offended you with my stupidity.

Would it be posible to take a shutle bus or something like that to solitude one day cuase i reaslly want to go to big cotton wood canyon also.

Yes that guy was rigth about ArmadaBC being right.... Catherines area is pretty sweet if you hike far enough...... i have bad memory so i dont know names of runs and stuff.... but just go to where u have to hike up a lot....lollol... less people

I think there may be a shuttle that runs from little to big cottonwood. Either that or you'll have to take a transfer somewhere. I've seen the shuttles running but have only ridden on one from bird to alta.

Another good place to build a kicker is at Brighton. You can buy a 'one-ride' ticket for about $10 and head up the Millicent lift. Take one of the gates out of bounds and do your BC jibbin' there. Be careful because it is out of bounds and not patrolled.

When I went out a couple years ago i remeber catherns. Is it the one on the far left. If so Its sick and not alot of people go there cuase u have to take 3 lifts to get over there.

the snowbird park was sick.....the flat down box was awesome...in my profile i have a vid of a friend and i skiin in hte snowbird park...u cna see whats in it

if u think snowbirds park was good, u havnt seen a lot of parks..

I meen.. it wasnt bad...

but? common.. u must have been to better parks..

it was only 2 bjs? thats IT! waay to long lift ride for so few good jumps.

7 am flight tomarow morning. Get there at 10. At the mountain by 12 at the very latest. Free night skiing. 6 full days of skiing. Fly back next sat. Cant wait.

If the hikes are still open I would recommend taking the trip up to twin peaks. I skied pipeline a week ago, it was definetly worth the hike.

yea since it hasnt snowed in a week every thing isd opean out there right now even the baldy chutes. ill do those sun and then it is suposed to snow on and off the rest of the week.
