Yeah out of that last storm when Alta got like 40 inches and Snowbird got like 39, it was SOOOOO much deeper at Alta.
But seriously, they are both at the top of the same canyon. So a claim that Alta gets more snow than the Bird is ridiculous. It all depends on the aspect of where they measure and wind and sun and random ass mother nature shit. If anything it's like an inch or two difference per big storm, which may add up to a few feet over the course of a 4-5 month season.
Either way, they both get a bunch of snow and they both have high points. That being said, I prefer Snowbird for the tram and sustained steepness over the steep/flat/steep/flat stair step terrain and traverses/side steps at Alta. Plus, it's fun to ride with Snowboarders and their is an elitist attitude at Alta.
