so i heard a rumor that snowbird is not having a park this year?! WTF! i was just curious if any of you out there know?!

i kno that but PC is like 45 mins away from my house when snowbird is like 10.... snowbirds park sucked last year! hhaha but does anyone have a reason why their not having one or what?!

i remember reading an article about this. they say that their riders prefer their natural terrain features over man-made ones in the park......or something like that

i thught it was just one park being closed, not all. but heck, what do i know. i live in vancovuer, after all

that sucks dude, i was maybe going to go to snowbird, but i guess not now, even tho skiing park is definitely not everything when skiing out west

whatever fuck that shit. They had suuuch a fun rail/jib park at the end of the year. When everywhere else was closed we could still go up to Snowbird and rip the jibs. Have little mini NS gathering things it was ballller.

dont worry brotha-man they will still have some jibs by mid-gad me thinks. could be wrong tho soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i dunno but thats what i was aware of

its' still dumb. now all there is is brighton and PC for park. sometimes people can't afford 2 passes.

They are still gonna have rails and shit in the micro park... The big park isn't happening, or the pipe. It is so hard to maintain a park when it snow 30 inches a night, and wind at 40 mph. That means digging out the rails quite often, and other maintenance for the 20 people that go through the park. And you can find so many natural hits around the ski area.

You know what, fuck Snowbird then. The Bird use to be the place where all the homies would get season passes, and you'd ride sick snow all day everyday. Now its just another shitty tourist destination. Hour long lift lines, tracked out powder by 10 am, and coming this season, ski-in ski-out lodging, yippee, now all the gapers don't even have to drive back down the canyon, which means less powder and even longer lines. I gave up on Snowbird a while ago and picked up a pass to Brighton, best decision ever. So they don't have the vertical that the Bird does, but I've logged dozens of pow days there that absolutely put the Bird to shame.

just like everyone else says who cares about snowbirds park go to pc for that snowbirds amazing powder days make up for loss of park

i'm gettin a pass at pc, maybe i'll drop a lil' flow for a snowbird ticket when it dumps. that's my plan anyway.

word i was there for one day............Snowbird better have a park this year, i mean they need to cuz alta stoped making thier half assed park.

The guy i talked to at snowbird said they ARE still having the half pipe and some rails and jumps on big emma just no baby thunder park.

Man, If I lived in Utah, had PC within 45 minutes of me, and was 10 minutes from Snowbird, I wouldn't care about a 'Bird park. You're right next to snowbird...ski snow! Go ski PC and their park when there is no snow!

ya but you forget one thing, money....i dont live there but i go to Snowbird like 2 weeks a year or so and snowbird is where its at, but now if they dont have a park then its like alta with boarders..

Word from the friendly people at saltys is that there not have a park for insurance reasons. As far as the pipe goes, they say it's gonna be hand dug. The zaugg's gonna sit in a shed all year and collect dust. Insurance is a bitch, but for a resort as big as snowbird you think they could splurge a little for a park. A major resort like that should have a park. And as far as the handdug pipe goes, that cool, takin it back to the olden days, but if you wanna make one you should leave the real pipe. I think snowboarders will have more fun in that than skiers. I not getting a snowbird pass anyway, so i don't care, but i can't help but think its kinda lame.

Oh and you don't need a park at the bird' because they have Chips Run. At the end of a powder day you can find MFM, BJ and Erik Leines, Nick Greener, Aaron Biittner, Mark Edlund and the like shredding the cat hits and natural hits there. just keep your eyes open for the goods.

i know a way sick spot to throw backs off of and its all natual.... at the bottom of chips... o and the "wave" like off of little cloud its SICK haha

i heard dick bass is friends with george bush?!!? WTF... ya i heard that he even stayed in his house during the olympics... the huge house across the street from iron blossom lodge.... those are just rumors hhahaha thought i would throw it out there...

you dont know what the fuck you're talking about..

Everybody remembers the park from 05-06, it was sick. they lost the guy that built that park, so they had no park builder this year that knew how to operate a cate to build jumps. and come on dude, its snowbird. they're known for their natural terrain, not their terrain park.

not to mention their insurance went thru the roof after the Snoqualmie thing.

Snowbirds park has always been weak... MAybe they will build another SWEET tunnel with the money they'll save??

i go out to pc every chance i get and the only reason i leave park city is to go to snowbird. mineral basin is some of the best steeps ive ever skied. snowbirds park has always sucked. if you go to snowbird you gotta go for the trees and shit. the 20 extra minutes to get to park city is worth the drive if you want park

Bro, you've only been riding for 3 years. Don't come on here saying I don't know what the fuck Im talking about. I've lived in SLC all my life, these mountains are my fucking home.

Yes, I do remember the 05-06 season, but unlike yourself, I remember the 7 seasons before it also, and I know what the Bird used to be. So what they lost their park guy, hire another one, its not like they're lacking the resources. Maybe they could hire someone who has a good idea for some progressive jibs instead of the same shit thats been up there for the past 6 years. Their jumps used to be ill I'll give 'em that, I loved the channel gap there, but there is no progression. Snowbird wants to be a tourist destination, so Ill give up my spot in line to them. I agree the Bird has the best terrain, but the resort in general blows.

It's one thing you realize you're spoiled when you move to utah. Before I moved to utahr, it was an hour and a half drive, 2 hours on pow days to Meadows. Nothing like waking up at 4, making the rounds to pick up the friends and be to the resort just before the lifts open. Here I walk out the front door and throw the skis on. And 45 minutes isn't too much of a drive. I do that for work in the summer every morning, and a 2 hour commute home or longer thanks to davis county traffic to the summer residence.
