Snowbird Spring Pass - Worth $300?

What's the snow like at the Bird in May-June? I rode at Snowbasin and Canyons this past weekend and the snow was that sticky, velcro like snow where it feels like you have glue on the bottom of your skis. Basically I'm just wondering if that is how the snow's going to be at the Bird in the next 2 months. I REALLY don't want to put my skis away for the season, but at the same time, sticky snow is not enjoyable at all. Also how much remains open? Any spots where a nice, decent sized jump could be built that's out of the way and won't get shut down?

It is and it's not worth it. Yeah its nice to get chair access for the month of may while other resorts are closed. However, usually after memorial day, the bird goes to just weekends (fri-sun). Its a fun vibe, but for a little more skiing, its not really worth dropping $300, especially this late in April. Snow is so-so on those warm spring days.

Snow as always depends on weather, The bird does stay cooler than most resorts in utah and its higher hence the more snow. however you're still skiing in a t-shirt most days its gonna be wet and sticky no matter where you go. even mt. hood. if you stick to groomed runs its not nearly as bad. since the bird doesnt really have a park your paying $300 to ski groomers aside from the random days it snows and is cold.

What does a day pass cost now? I don't think I can justify 300 to ski groomers, but I may go up a few times if I'm really in the mood.

nah, wait til next season and drop 5 hundo for the entire year. spring skiing is lots of fun though

i know i'm planning on going up tomorrow. what do you think the chances are that the road will be closed in the morning?

what everyone should do is go buy piece of shit 300 dollar sleds, and then go wherever the hell they want. uintas, other resorts, etc. it definitely wouldnt be the same amount of skiing, but piece of shit snowmobiles keep things really interesting?

today was epic, if we get a few more of these days (perhaps friday?) then it'd be worth it. i boughtmy bird pass for 300 in november and haven't looked back
