Snowbird ski police or patrol?

Op I saw this run when I was up over the weekend, it did look super tempting. But those patrollers know the mountain better than anyone

my friend got his pass pulled sunday and was threatened with a $1000.00 fine, you got lucky

Every resort does that

No way man, they open everything as soon as they can. There are many areas at all of the Utah resorts that receive avalanche mitigation the day or two after a storm, it just all depends. If something isnt open, there is a good reason, not to save it for the weekenders, thats the silliest thing ive ever heard/

Haha. Idk i think i heard it from someone on a lift. I’ve never noticed them holding off on opening terrain aside from within time and condition limitations but I live in Colorado so I’m more gullible when I’m in Utah. And sometimes it can be difficult to overestimate LDS influence (so wouldn’t be surprised that they open terrain Saturdays but never Sundays)

Haha dude, no fucking way. Your idea of utah is quite inaccurate, we are very similar to CO, but less people in general and better mountains ;)

I don't understand this thread. OP signed a contract that likely explicitly prohibits ducking ropes, violated that contract and expects the resort to continue to uphold the contract right?

How exactly does he think life works in our society?

That being said, Snowbird patrol is full of cocky mall cop types who have a stick up their ass. .

Yeah that's absolute horseshit. I've never had a problem with ski patrol even when I tried straight-lining the middle "get serious" chute on Dave Crichton pro models ending in multiple tomahawks. Guess why? I wasn't ducking ropes into a closed off fucking area. They do not care what you do as long as your damaged body ends up in an easily accessible area.

It sounds like anyone with a negative experience with ski patrol up there are being jackasses.

Yep ducked the rope. I think I'm a little to old to pretend to cry but if that works ill pick it up. Had a similar issue like 3 years ago at the bird for skiing to fast in a slow zone but got a warning that time.

Bottom line, don't duck a rope at the bird not worth it. There are gates for a reason at that place, its a gnarly mountain.

You are purely retarded and have no valid points in your argument. You ducked a rope at snowbird you don't do that shit. When you try to run thats when they call the cops on your dumb ass and get into even more trouble.

OP is entirely in the wrong and deserves his punishment.

That being said, Snowbird patrol is full of cocky mall cop types who have a stick up their ass. Not quite yellow jacket status but easily the least chill patrollers I know of. That and Snowbird just generally has a very restrictive corporate vibe in comparison to the other Wasatch resorts.

Also, OP count yourself lucky you didn't have to go to court. In Utah there is a misdemeanor offense called "skiing in a closed area" where you have to pay a sizeable fine and they have every right to charge you with it.

That's the mountain safety guys, completely different from patrol, they're not chill. Patrol guys are awesome there.
