Snow Watch 08/09

are you posting in the thread of which you were banned?

Snow level down to 3500 feet thursday, then 3000 friday. I might go play friday night.

Storms swinging through Parkland, got to say that I'm stoked for when this hits the mountains, and it looks like baker is going to get hammered.

God Stevens looks beautiful. Quick question. If Stevens isn't able to open and Baker is, is it worth it to drive up there? I know it only rains up there, but how many chairs and how crowded is it typically opening weekend?

I am debating whether to go to Baker opening weekend or just fucking climb Pilchuck to earn some turns if theres snow up there if Stevens is a no go. Or hell maybe just go to Stevens fuck around.

Who told you it only rains up there? What the heck?

You are aware that Mt Baker holds the world record for the snowiest place anywhere on the planet, yes?

And yes, if Stevens isn't open, Baker is worth the drive.

Mission will also be open Friday!

I may have once heard something about the world record for the snowiest place on earth. Rumor has it that it always rains though... Mission Ridge huh... I would hit that if I was still in Ellensburg but ill be back in Everett for Thanksgiving. I am playing for Stevens since its closest and I got a pass there, but if not I will try to round up some people and make the trek to Baker, if its not raining of course.

not 100% sure on that. they do have the guns still going at the moment even though its naturally snowing too. i'll be able to give fairly accurate info after this weekend.

Mission will probably only be one tiny run with man-made snow like last year, but still fun if its the only mountain open.

fuck that I am skiing sunday. woot. woot, I got my gear now, I can ski, you know the rule, if I can't ski no one else will either. take last year for example, I was on crutches till dec. then needed another week before I could ski and what do you know when I could ski you could ski.

thats how it goes.

shiro go on sunday! i have already been up there twice this season and its pretty fun. and there will be looots of snow to play around in
jamie you should go too

alright well STEVENS SUNDAY!!!! hopefully the max can get up there that day haha

SNOcompton today. just to mess around. im going soon i think, when it gets bright.........

I was at stevens last night, hiked around a bit. About a foot of snow or so, tons on the road (but only at the top). Hiked just a little ways up big chief and skied down, wasn't worth the hike, but still fun.

i skinned up chief a couple times this morning! it was fun, but i hit the bottom a ton. i think I saw a couple buried tracks, but otherwise it was crisp.

in the end there really isn't that much snow. hopefully we get some shit after turkey day.

also the snow is like wet so speed is a huge issue if you're thinkin about rails or something (which, by the way, don't be discouraged)

Im not going

I already got in trouble yesterday with the snoqualmie security, so its just not worth the drive today

The security guy up at stevens was really nice friday night, didn't mind me up skiing at all. Said there was no sledding allowed cause I guess someone got hurt some previous year and tried to sue or some crap. Skiing is ok though.

yeah, a lot of shoveling though

so we got to west, parked our car, literally 5 seconds, still sitting in my car, security car comes, tells us we arnt getting on the mountain or ill chase ya off(fat dude)

so we go to central see if they got any new jibs for the year, he comes by, "dont push your luck" and there are other people just walked around looking around. we were just in our normal clothes too

then after some hand dipped corndogs, we go to alpy, make a little jib jump which doesnt really work out. right before we leave, the security guy comes rolling up all serious, give me your guys id. im gonna run it through the system, something like that. this is technically 3rd strike boys, and i could have you passes pulled/banned for a year. but lets off off with a warning in the end....we have some special mark on our season passes not i guess and if we get in any bit of trouble again we are screwed.

the whole time while at alpy, people kept coming by, playing in the snow, sleddin, one guy started going up the mountain with like 2 kids and he had snowskates, cars doing donuts (we never did)

should have gone to stevens, now i dont even know if i can work there anymore, im suppose to be doing slc

that is forest service land, they can not legaly kick you off, if you are using their rails, or their lifts then they can, but you have every legal right to be there especially when they are not in operation. The only people who have a legal right to kick you out are federal police, wsp, forest service rangers, or whatever county Shareif has juristiction in that area.

I know for sure he wasnt a cop. Yeah i wasnt used their rails or anything either. Idk my personal opinion he was a huge dick, not that i got in a lot of trouble. but he was just a dick.

he said it was private property and i was trespassing, made sense though. Just lame that no one else got in trouble

It's not private property, I am tempted to go up there next week or so and try and get in an argument with him, just own him.

but ya, he sounds like just as much of a cocksucker as any other joke with a badge.
