Snow Watch 06/07

no no sean, youre wrong.

im talking about gapers, like people that go about 2 feet up the wall, eat shit, and in the process, fuck everything up

Damn, I have such a bad sunburn from Snowbird yesterday, my face hurts like hell. However, might snow on Sunday... hmmm....

actually got some decent snow on 7th today....with a few face shots, which was sick! kinda funky underlayer though

Big Chief bowl and Tye Bowl were sick. Shim's Meadow was pretty nice but there was some funky underlayer stuff like mentioned before.

Snoqualmie may get some snow this weekend, more than likely it will be felt the most at Alpental. And Central is closing on Sunday the 8th. Seems like the season is coming to a close...

yeah, what the hell. I was gonna go night skiing tonight, but nooooo that ended a while ago aparently

not cool.

Anyone else seen the huge mound of snow under the Easy Gold chairlift at Summit East? Drove past it today and it looks like a huge quarterpipe from I-90, any clue?

one thing I noticed is that for the week of the 10th-17th it just says that Central is closed, not closed for the season, like it does for West, Hyak, and cross Country. does this mean they are planing to re open it, and are just moving snow around?

On their main page under the news and events headline it does say for 4/8 it's the last day at summit central. That should eliminate any doubt as to whether or not it's going to be open any more this season.

season ending always comes up super fast, which always makes me wonder why people get pissed at me when I think there should be more haste in getting parks up and running to a good potential, but that's just me

Jesus. Today I skied in the following:

Heavy Snow

Rain

Mist

Dense Fog

Freezing Rain

Hail

Blue Sunny Skies

Fucking crazy what the Northwest will throw at you. There were some areas of untracked Cascade Concrete out there, not very deep, maybe an inch or two. The slush at the bottom of the park was deeper to be honest. Still, my new setup was put through its trials all right, and performed beautifully.

And the pro line is fucking monstrous right now, good lord. And as I told Hoos, watch out for the third kicker on the right line of the top, severely speed check after you land the second. I overshot and it... pained me. All in all, Stevens has a pretty good park right now.

haha rowen, precisely why i didnt ski today. but hopefully the weather can be decent tomorrow, because good weather and good, big jumps is good stuff

I left after 3, but not by choice. God damn brakes, when will someone develop a brake that doesnt fuck you up when you go switch?

You and kevin I swear.... don't fall when you land switch and your brakes won't break.

And yeah, today sucked... quite possible worst day ever (although i still had a lot of fun obviously). there was maybe 3 things open in the park, the groomers were boiler plate. Good times. Only one more day for us in the park... :(

I think I actually broke the binding itself on a straight air, which is even funnier. I did a mute off the first one, landed fine, but kinda noticed that my right ski was dragging as I lined up for the second jump. Thats where I probably cracked/blew the plastic off, and the brake probably sprang loose in the air when I took off again. And FUCK the prices for wide brakes, $40 for ONE?

jsut go to a shop and see if they have one lying around, usually around 15 bucks. or bend a regular one yourself if your feeling adventerous

well i didnt expect it to be snowing at school today. sunday it was snowing but all of the wet snow had frozen and createad a really bad inconsistent ice layer.

that's life my friend. are you going to be able to get it fixed this week? im stoked to shoot at the pass on sunday, you should get that thing fixed asap!

Rowen, kevin has had no breaks on his rock skis all season, he uses leashes. They are about $5 at the mountain, and then you've got no worries.

Just take the brake off the ski altogether, this late in the season its pointless to try and get brakes fixed, you'll waste too much time.

Get a leash!

I have leashes, using them scares the fuck out of me after one of my pow leashes caught in my boot and my ski came very close to my head. I'm hitting Seattle Ski tomorrow to see if Nick can help bend some regulars for my Madens

You should..season's pretty much over and you won't be able to ski for a while...Unless you ride Hood this summer

Yeah, I'm going to skip a day this week and ride, and then hit it all weekend. Hood would be fun, I kinda wanna go this summer.

You should have come up today Rowen! It was nice and sunny pretty much all day until about 3pm. Plus they have a couple new features that are really fun to hit.

Looks like there will be some decent snow accumulation at Snoqualmie over the next few days. 3-6 tonight with another 6-8 forecasted for tomorrow and the snow levels staying near 3000 feet for the entire week. Next weekend could be very nice indeed out at Alpental.

What up.... Are we gunna get some more for the end of the season? I'm thinking shits going to get good and then the 15th comes around and no more lift service....Anyways after that it's time to break out the dirtbike!!!
