Snow Watch 06/07

Your telling me. I decided to say fuck school and went up there. It was amazing. Face shots all day and the best part was it was Tuesday. So no lines, it was the best skiing ive had all season.

Crap, does anyone want to hit Stevens tomorrow with me? I have two seats in my car, and I'll need a few buddies if I want to hit anything out of bounds.... anyone going to be up there I can cruise with?

Im gonna be up there but im leaving seattle at 930 so i can go to calc before i leave so i dont horribly fail my midterm...so ill get up there a little late BUT if you see me give it a shout out

I definitely said "fuck school" and went with Hoos....and oh.my.gosh. it was AMAZING...it was awesome because the wind would always blow the snow and cover up our previous tracks...freshies all day and endless faceshots!!!!!!! I hope tomorrow is just as sick w/ the forecasted 4-6 inches tonight and 3-5 inches during the day tomorrow!

I don't have your number? And I probably wont be carrying a radio. BUT i'll be wearing a bright pink jacket, and teal pants. I'm sure i'll see you rolling around sometime!

Get a better radio. Actually dont, most ski areas have better cell phone coverage anyways.

So, today. Great for the morning, fucking excellent. Deep, some hints of a layer underneath when you landed, but great skiing. Then the afternoon. Too much sun, everything got baked and wet. Around 1:00 I was skiing untracked, really backseat to actually go somewhere in the wet pow, and went off a windlip that was larger than I expected. Landed off balance, hooked a tip and did my first real Tomohawk this year. It was funny as hell, I left 5 distinct holes from my head and skis in the pow. But yeah, tourqued something in my knee, and suddenly had a headache after that, so I took it easy and skied in bounds.

One last thing, the top park sucks, but I'll let it go because of all the new snow. Landings are just... wrong. And whats up with the huge gouge halfway up sky? Pipe?

yea today was beautiful. Snow was decent, better in some places than others, but can't complain. The sun did have a strong effect on the snow, but whatever, it was gorgeous.

But as for that ditch thing, I think its finally the third pipe theyve been talking about for a couple of years. That was where the first pipe was back in the day.

And yea, hopfully some work is done on the park. I only went through it once in the afternoon and eeek: flat landings, small lips, burried rails. But plenty of snow to work with so yay

Epic Skiing past two days. Tuesday was crazy so much snow... I had a up close view of the snowpack a few times. Backside was amazing, Revines was by far one of the sickest runs all year. And yesterday can anyone say bluebird? Grace lakes was sick short but sweet!

I love how we're getting one last big hurrah of good snow, and I am entirely missing out on all of it. Chances are looking good I won't even get to go up this weekend! Awesome!

hate life.

Only? It's nearly march. I'm not saying winter is anywhere near over, just that this is probably the last big dump of good snow.

that aside... looks like another week of it, so I think I'll be taking a day off work during the week.

What's going on at Stevens this Weekened? Looks like alittle comp in the base area again... They need to bring back the QP jam that was always a good shin dig.

Well, looks like I wont be missing much this weekend while I study for finals. All this goddamn rain should be snow, we just need those cooler temps...

I was at alpental yesterday morning, a good 6-8 inches of new, and about 15 people up. I got bored of the bottom of the hill waiting for chair 2 to open though, so I went over to the park at central which is awesome.

but there was like a group of 10-12 kids on twintips, all swearing up a storm, so silly.

they're expecting 5 inches on rain today at mt. baker. throw in 90+ mph winds and it can make for a bad day. all the rivers around he are on flood warning, and thats why im guessing that duncan closed the ski area today. he doesnt want people to get flooded in at glacier.

on a good note, freezing levels are supposed to hit 3000 feet on monday and 2500 feet on tuesday. they say we'll get atleast 3 feet of snow this week.

I just hope its sunny some day next week, I have ambitions of taking a day off work and going up to the park and filming.

Wendsday was probally the best 3in Ive ever skiied.... Nice light pow with hard pack under made for some fast ass lines at stevens.

there's a thread on here rowen started with more pages than this one about my car (and my old car). WRX wagon, its nuts. And no, the mods will by dying down on the WRX cause I'm saving up to get a new car (new to me, old to the world)

Boeing does raises every spring, you have a performance evaluation with your manager the end of the year that dictates how much your raise will be.

Basically I want a different daily driver, I'm putting too many miles on the WRX with skiing/work.

So its a toss-up between a new Toyota Yaris, or an old Mini.
