I had a fun time sitting in my car for 3 hours yesturday at alpental while there wasnt any power and didnt go today. for those who went tell me how it was.
Friday and Saturday were amazing at Stevens. I had high hopes for today but I got there and it was in the mid 30s with heavy wet snow. Fuckin sucked ass, it was the stickiest stuff.
you shoulda been there earlier. sooo deep early, then it got shitty. rediculously unstable too, i set off a 1.5 ft crown in whinny chutes first run. crazy shit
it was so heavy and untable, i went down this chute thing through the trees on the top right of carona bowl, and it all ripped out on me, ending with e falling off the ten foot rock drop at the end, fun times. the backside was uterly worthless once you got out of the trees.
Finally get to go skiing this week, thank god. What an awful weekend of SAT Proctor Classes. I think I'm going up Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and possibly Monday. I might not want to fight crowds on MLK day, so we'll see if the snow's good enough to convince me...
It was great fun today! Mmm Pow is good. I wish they opened bobby and nancy, that would have been amazing. The wind was brutal though...it shut down double diamond
Shouldnt that be a spectacular day for Snocompton?
Haha, I made a funny. I'm ditching class this afternoon to go enjoy the snow up there. Hooray for Monday night skiing, its the most deserted a ski area can ever get.
Haha, true. I'm leaving in a few minutes with 4 friends, so we got a packed car, otherwise I'd kidnap you and take you with us. Should be a nice night up there...
I was shocked. We all stayed at a buddies cabin in Skykomish and it was dumping snow all night and still when I went to bed about 2:30. I wake up at 8am and hear heavy rain, I was pissed. But thought itd still be amazing at Stevens but I got there and it was heavy as shit. Sucked ass.
This weekend is lookin sick but I wont be here to see it. Going to College Weekend at Whistler which is gonna be sick. But a part of me would rather be at Stevens with my homies skiing pow in the sun. I have a feeling Whistler is gonna be a zoo with asians and tourists everywhere(yes i know ill be one but still). Plus the Hawks game is on sunday, theres no chance in hell im missing the game.
That is all Boeing flight test footage. Crosswinds are very good fun, we do a lot of testing for cert. Often we have to fly to wherever crosswinds are, back in October-ish I had to fly down to Texas one day because it was the only airport in the country with sufficient crosswind. I got to fly the plane on the way back though.
Today at Stevens was AMAZING. Bout 14 degrees, blue skies, deep powder and it was dry as fuck. Definitely some of the best snow ive ever skied. Demo day was going on as well, got to ride soem Mojo 90s which I loved. Those things are absolute tanks, they plow through anything. I think ill get them next season.
^^ Thats tight your still skiing the leftovers from Tuesday night and Wendsday. It's cool that you can find fresh a couple days after the storm. Stevens was off the hook on wendsday in case anybody missed it. Choking on snow equals a great powder day.
I think there was more new snow at Boeing Field this morning then there was at our place in Kirkland. Yesterday the roads were completely clear here at work, while still all snowy at home, today its SOLID snow down here, and people are idiots.
i got to ski today! absolutely nobody up there, and they actually got about 4 inches in the morning, making for some decent snow. i havent been to school since last tuesday, this is fucking rad
oh thats sick! i would still think it's pretty badass if you went but still had school. probably wouldnt reccomend it getting into college. but yea--Slackers of the World, UNITE!
