Snow Watch 06/07

i went up expecting shitty overcast and park riding today at stevens. and got endless faceshots and some of the best pow lines ive had all year. everything was untracked, and up on double and seventh was pretty ridiculous. heavy snow but for some reason it was incredible.

Fuck Fuck Fuck, I should have gone...

And this Sunday things might go back to shit, very very tentative forecast. Someone better get all the pow for me this weekend, I cant ski until next Wednesday because of all my classes.

Oh yeah, and happy 36000th post on the WA forums, leading the pack in worthless regional discussions!

what the hell are you talking about? the forecast is grand. Its just too bad its coming for the weekend. Oh well, certainly better than nothing

It's dumping snow in the mountains! I'm hoping it stays cold for a long long time. Not skiing on my days off is not my idea of fun. Anyways gave me a chance to get my skis fixed. Next week it's on !!!

Looks like I gotta wax them up tonight and get ready for an amazing Friday and Saturday. Expecting 5 inches tomorrow night here in Ellenburg, I can only imagine how great Stevens is gonna be.

probably becuase you suck at getting good scedules. it may be different in collage but I can talk the staff into giving me any scedule I want.

Oh i miss the days that I could talk myself into any schedule. Professors don't care about you if you haven't registered for their class. I've already spent hours looking for a good schedule for winter quarter and i'm still partly out of luck...but thank God I managed to at least pull a Tues/Thurs schedule this quarter! The classes don't fulfill my major req's but 2 days/wk is 2 days/wk, and I can't pass that up.

Yeah dude seriously. My schedule is sick, I got Chemistry Mon, Wed, Thur and Fri from 9-10. Monday I go pretty much all day, wed til 1:30. So Tue I chill all day and pretty much Thur and Fri also when im done at 10. Im going up tomorrow after my one and only class, oh hell yeah I rigged this shit up well.

I miss the days when I had to schedule classes

NO I DON'T.

I go to work when I want (usually 7-7:30) and leave 8 hours later. Much less confusing.

^ooooohhhhh shit! thats nuts.

well, i kinda got screwed this quarter, not gonna lie. it worked out alright but there was really no way around it. ick. being a freshman sucks at times like this, when you cant have the exact schedule you want. arggg....

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM PST SATURDAY.

SNOWFALL WILL INTENSIFY FURTHER OVER THE CASCADES THIS EVENING

WITH SNOWFALL RATES EXPECTED TO REACH 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR FOR

THE MAJOR CASCADE PASSES. THIS WILL SUPPORT EXTREMELY HEAVY

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 18 TO 30 INCHES TONIGHT.

well even with this snow, theyve managed to do avy control and still keep the passes open. but if it persists, with all the weekend warriors and gapers and shit, the driving could get very interesting

12 inch new. 18 in 24

stevens temporarily closed because of downed power line at mile post 54 both west and east bound.

^^^^I guess it's not that bad that I have work today then. Probally going to have to hike for it on tuesday but I'm going to find some pow! GO SEAHAWKS

according to DOT there was like 16 inches, but they had some gnarly winds (just like down here) so there is probably some very deep wind drift

but that stupid fucking powerline...

yaa, this morning was rad....chilling outside skykomish for an hour and a half starting at 715 before they made us turn around. suck a cock snohomish PUD!!!

yea it would have been real nice to ride today. did they ever get it open?? i hope someone got some turns. thanks for the ride again billy! ....even though we didnt get to ski :(

I was in the air all day and it was beautiful out. The olympics have a ton of snow on them, and it was all orange filtered light on the horizon. very cool!

There's been a ghost or something standing in front of the stevens web cam for almost 45 minutes. WTF It's some blair witch shit.

So... 3 hour drive to Alpental today, for about 2 hours of skiing. Chair 2 wasn't open (doing lots of avalanche control all day, and it was pretty windy). The snow falling was like nails too, it sucked.

^dont whine, skiing is skiing. no matter how shitty it is, its still skiing. at least you got turns in...unlike myself. but i got to sleep in so im not complaining.
