Just thought I'd let everyone know I'm going skiing today, then flying to Cancun tonight. I' really excited.

On a side note, is it smarter to bring lots of cash and get it exchanged, or just use a debit/credit card? I figured on taking a decent amount of cash, just so I don't have to depend on plastic alone. Thoughts?
 
I wouldn't carry around a ton of cash. Bring a debit card. A credit card would probably be too risky. Be careful, I came really close to getting pick pocketed in Mexico several times and I witnessed quite a few there. Have a great time!
 
A credit card is 100% safer than a debit card if you're traveling somewhere kinda sketch like Mexico. If something happens to your debit card, it's your money, and the bank is less likely to help you out. With a credit card, it's the bank's money and they're much more willing to help you out. Just don't take cash out of an atm with a debit card, they'll rape you on the fees.
 
I brought like $300 cash and ended up using an atm. just kept $50 on me in my sock/hidden pocket, some in my book, and the rest in the hotel safe. never came close to losing any of it, had a great time. mexico is tons of fun
