Great. Nothing added for months and now they've locked all the levels, requiring a "Ski Pass" to unlock Siala. 190 credits for 27 days of access. Up yours. I paid for the game already, I'm done supporting it if this is the way its going.

Why dont you just support shredsauce instead? It has always been free and its made by a newschooler. Also way better game.

They claim that anybody who backed them in early access will gain a lifetime pass, but I didn't get anything of the sort. Uninstalled that bullshit immediately. I can understand if they're not making enough to cover development, but this isn't the way to go about it. I was about to make this thread yesterday but I couldn't even be arsed.

It's all about the dolla' bills yo...

I never liked the game physics anyways, and way too many bugs and glitches imo...

Steep is also not really realistic but only concerning dropping 200ft+ cliffs, other than that it's way better than Snow and any other games I've played so far...

On the side note, Steep is also doing same shit with DLC packs and expansions, but they at least added rail mechanics in slope style, now that's not that awful imo. I bought Steep and didn't regret a dime, and will get the Olympics if I find it on some Christmas sale since I liked it on open Beta

Shredsauce for the win

I like shreadsauce's concept, but for some reason I feel like I'm retarded when I'm playing it since I can't do shit in it...

What platform are you playing it on? I'm on iOS mobile, and I can't gain any speed unless I'm dropped on a map that has a downhill...

Also rails are reaaaally buggy for me, I even when I miss a rail but I go really close to it, the grinding sound starts and keeps doing that until I reset position... I'd love to play it more since It's perfect for me to play it at work, but every time I just get really frustrated with it and get back to work...

It's infinitely better on desktop imo, but some people apparently love the mobile version

On mobile, if you swipe up the screen (like how you swipe L/R on tinder) then it increases your speed. If you’re going forwards then the skier pushes with his poles but if you’re switch then he just magically gets faster. Hope that helps

Thank you very much kind sir, I'd never figure it out on my own...

Let's see if this actually helps my poor skills in Shredsauce

Nvm this game is fucking lit you cant do no racer tuck in shredsauce.

It's funny how malcom managed to make better animations with 10 less developers and probably 1/1000th the budget.

For quite a while I was obsessed with playing on my phone on the bus or whatever but since the new update its pretty much unplayable now imo...

Landings suck, controls suck now, I can't select grabs now cause it's glitched, constantly have to restart twice cause I want to restart at the top, the Shredsauce guy FLOATS off of rails consistently cause it's bugged, the camera angle was changed, I can't turn off sound in game without turning off all sound, color of the snow glitches and constantly changes to different shades cause the graphics are bugged and more!

I just can't play now cause of how frustrating it is to have the Shredsauce buddy fucking float off a rail in slow motion and then magnetically get pulled back before crashing...maybe it's just me though idfk.

Duuuuuuude...

I’m new here and I just started playing it so and didn’t have any experience with It before and I was kinda afraid to write this post since everyone here is so hyped about it.

I really dig edits that I see on their instagram account, and I’m trying like really hard to do some basic tricks but game is literally unplayable and so frustrating to play

Yeah I never got Snow and i play shredsauce all the time. Snow is made for non skiers, shredsauce is made for the real ones out there

I honestly don't see any problems with steep, especially now that they're adding rails and fixing their trick mechanics. However I can't believe that their olympics dlc is $30. I guess it's a small community and they gotta pay for the development.

Steep just redesigned their engine so the axis' is more realistic and more customizable with affectivity from different grabs. They also built a whole new map/Olympic park combo, Steep is the wave.

Hold on. Snow was great. With a controller on PC, you had great graphics, realistic ragdoll physics and true 3 axis rotations, 2 of which you could throttle. Huge selection of good looking grabs, with the ability to tweak them by clicking the thumbstick.

Siala was a massive map. Truly massive, to the point where I had unlocked all zones and was still finding great lines and new places to put kickers. Rail mechanics were decent too - not magnetic whatsoever, so they took some time to actually learn how to master.

As someone that fully funded them early on, I'm appalled that I'm now being asked to spend more money MONTHLY for access to features I already had. I'm done, you've lost me if this is where we're going from here.

Guess I'm moving to Steep.

I'd tell them that. Worth a shot. Pretty fucked to all the sudden be like "Oh btw....."

I just play skate and pretend its urban skiing haha. I wish EA would make a ski games with the same physics as skate that highlights urban, park and back country booters!

Snow was amazing and a shit ton of fun when the beta first came out and you didn't need to pay any more than 20$

Loaded it up for the first time and a while today hahahaha what a fucking joke

the game barely works on PS4, crashes constantly and glitches all the time

i paid to support them and now I get a three day pass to one mountain? Nice

game has always been and still is a fucking joke, go fuck yourself devs

Also it’s been what? 5 Years? And you haven’t figured out a way to lock on to rails? Quick jerking each other off over in Sweden or wherever you are and get to fucking work

just tried to play for the first time since november cause I've been skiing for real

these guys really dug their own grave. a reoccurring fee to play each map are you fucking kidding me? this game is barely worth paying for in the first place much less having to buy a "pass" to each map even though there is only 1 that doesn't suck balls.

it was fun while it lasted, and I might have payed if it were a one time thing, but the people running this game are total fucking retards and ruined everything they had going. guess they weren't making enough money off the unlockable gear/outerwear that would cost me half a paycheque for a full setup

rip snow

It appears SNOW is trying to rise from the ashes and resurrect itself. No more bullshit ski passes, just a one time purchase. Hope this works out for them, I always wanted to see this game succeed. I still think it's a good game fundamentally, I used to play it alot

Yeah, before they were independent, but now theyve been picked up by crytek

FAIR WARNING- with f2p you get 7 days on siala, and you get 2 other map for free (tyro valley and xgames 2016 I think)

There is the ultimate edition or whatever. 20 bucks, you get everything forever.

Also- if you have purchases something in the game worth 5 bucks you get free ultimate edition

Yeah, no. I’ve moved on. It was a really awesome game, but I’m not willing to deal with them again. Shout out to Malcom for keeping his word, I turn off my adblocker for his site.

Honestly, I loved snow. It always felt like a very polished shredsauce, and a lot of controls are really intuitive and easy to pick up/master. It’s a shame the game fell out of touch because in my opinion, snow was an incredibly entertaining game. It was fun to explore, find new lines and places to build kickers, go jib around in the parks.

I’ve been on the development side of a few apps and software projects, and from that standpoint, snow is a really, really well thought out game. Just messing around in the replay viewer you can see that, there’s so much you can do and it’s all done quite well imo. Sure there are bugs, sure there are issues... But the devs certainly put their heart and sole into creating this game, it’s just a shame that finances and the bottom line just had to make its way into it and kill off what was something great.

thanks for posting this. i never checked it out but the screenshots i saw, and mentions of being able to build jumps and stuff, seemed interesting. might check this out, though i forget what systems it's on

I still have all the maps and everything unlocked from when I bought the game early access or something. My friend had bought the game same as me but didn't have the maps or anything and he contacted them and told them some info and they gave him all the maps. That's a good option to try. The worst part about this latest update is that all the shop items are gone + the games maps are glitching out and some things are invisible like jumps and rails.

too little too late.

steep was free on psn last month, so why would I buy this underdeveloped game that allegedly still has a lot wrong with it? steep isn't perfect and I like the physics in snow a lot better, but these guys just kinda shit the bed too many times for me to spend any money on it.

When the new update drops on PS4 so that'll be sick

In steep you can cork 5 blint to lose on flat and do cork 7 swaps, it's unrealistic and not intuitive
