Snow making begins in CT

I believe that southington has made some. This week is looking good for making snow down there. I hope Southington is open by the time I get back for winter break.

This has been bothering me for a while...Fluff your link in your sig doesn't work anymore...someone changed the address for the terrain page.
Now, back to the subject...Doesn't it usually take Southington like an extra week or two to open cause they're farther south. Last year they didn't open till Dec. 13th but Sundown was open the day after Thanksgiving.

Southington likes to play it safe and wait until they know the snow will stay. This is unfortunate becasue they could blow snow in late november and open a trail.

blanny has just recently started since the temps are getting colder and are gonna make it as long as the temps are freezing!

i wish mohawk was closer to my house, it's a sick mountain, but it's like an hour and 15 minutes away, i might as well just go to mt. snow

WHAT?!?! where did you hear this, cause that's insane. I'm looking out my window (which is 10-15 minutes away from Sundown) at 9+ inches of fresh snow. It would be INSANE to not open this weekend.
(Please note, that if you are kidding my sarcasm meter doesn't work on stuff as important as this).

your sources lie.

its too early to tell. the natural snow, while pretty and good for handrails, does nothing to help get open. infact, its a wasted night of snow making due to humidity.

i drove the BEE around today hanging trail signs and the weight of that machine squishes the snow and soaks up the mud (obviously the ground has not froze) so... what would this mean...

sketchy, no park, no bumps and closed after 4 hours of people snowplowing it off.

you're only hope at this point is that thursday's cold snap happens earlier than predicted (it could) and last straight through the day friday (it has before) and then all the employees at sundown pull an all nighter (park staff is ready to work from 5pm friday until we finish...) and maybe you'd see an opening day.

fact is, i'd rather wait a week, open with everything but gunny including edge to edge coverage. a full, legit park and moguls.

Well, it looks as though Sundown WONT be open this weekend, which is a huge bummer, also because that means the Oakley Sessions has been postponed till the 19th.
But, the plus side is, that MAYBE (and I stress maybe) Jarrod and I can talk Ian Compton and Will Mayo (and maybe even Will Wesson and Andy Parry, you never know) into coming down for Oakley Session next week. Huh? You never know.
Anyways, I'm personally gonna be at Mount Snow all weekend cause I need to ski - If anyone else is going hit me up and we'll shred all day. Otherwise SEE YOU NEXT WEEKEND!!!
