hah yep i looked outside after it rained and saw the snow way at the top i was so excited. I just moved here so maybe someone thats been in utah a while knows but why the hell did it smell so bad yesterday, it smelled like sulfur or rotten eggs and it stunk my dorm room up the whole day, is that the lake or what?

that rotten ass smell was the 'great' salt lake. its a big lake so it smells all the way up to park city sometimes.

Well dspin7x, That is the worst the lake has ever smelled in the 17 years i have been here. The reason that this happens is, If a low pressure comes in with only a small storm at the front, the lake has wind blowing over it. When the water evaportates really fast, minerals try to go up with it, along with dead brine shrip causeing the bad smell, but if it werent for the lake, the snow here wouldnt be so dry.

Oh yeah, The lake is also what makes 4 or 5 day snow storms turn into 8-14 day snowstorms

First SNOW of the season! Looking North from the bottom of Charlie Brown.

The first snow has arrived, dropping about 3 inches of snow last night above 8,000 feet! What a beautiful day with the leaves changing color and the snow up high! More snow forecasted tonight, Winter is near!
