Snow in the forecast!!!!

Not quite covered, if you check the Audition cam and the Front of the Lodge cam you can see how much grass is still there, and they've still only made snow on top once or twice, but they are certainly making a lot of progress, which is really good news.

I'm not sure if they will open this weekend or not, although I do hope so. They say on the snow report, that they need at least two more nights of really good snowmaking. From the forecast, the nights look marginal, so we will have to wait and see. Although, the rain won't do too much harm, it still sucks!

And that's why I hate weather forecast's. When I looked earlier today, it didn't look anything like that for the next few days - it was showing upper 20's with maybe mid 20's. I hope that's right!

noaa weather is the most accurate, and plus you can read charts that tell you the wind speeds, barometric pressure, humidity, temps, precipitation etc every hour.

Hows it looking? Temps look cold but I'm not sure about humidity. If they can't open any chance of at least a rail jam of sorts?

They're actually pushing out snow right now, so I guess that's a good sign, because they think that they're close enough to opening that they don't have to worry about it all melting. I don't know how close, but hopefully really close, but I'm still holding with this weekend because there's just hardly anything on the top of the hill. Pretty cold the next 2 nights though so who knows?

The lift line would be unreal haha.
"SNOWMAKING UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, DEC 2[/b]We made some snow in the overnight last night but honestly it was not much. The sky stayed cloudy and it just didn't get very cold, upper twenties all night. There is snow in the forecast but we need at least one more good night of snowmaking to build a base to make the little natural snow that is forecast skiable! We are hoping Thursday night into Friday morning provides us with enough hours of cold to get the base we need built for the weekend. We won't be able to make a determination as to wheather we can get some of the area open for this weekend until late in the day on Friday. Say tuned.Next week looks great, and we should be able to have extended periods of snowmaking. This weekend looks questionable, but next weekend we are confident that we will be able to open with significant terrain and snow cover!"

Fuck

We are disapointed that we can not open this weekend with the snow in the forecast but the limited terain that we might be able to get open right now would probably leave you very disapointed. We are confident you won't be disapointed late next week!

just in time for exam week

YES. PLEASE. I decided not to go to my senior years football state game for opening day and its too late to get a ticket now :( this is upsetting

Haha Shaggy, very nice. For some reason that light isn't tied into the rest of the lighting system and so it is on its own, and you have to be at the gun to turn it off... which is a major pain the butt.
Look for a pre-opening day podcast very soon, that is super-sick!http://www.facebook.com/perfectnorth

Yeah. we're not quite sure yet. I know we'll probably have at least 4 rails out, probably some more. To be completely honest the snowguns on Audition Terrain Park haven't been working very well for the past few years, and they are under numbered. So we don't get as much snow in the park as we really need or would like. If we had the system they just installed on Backstage, THEN we would be in some serious business. But as is right now, we'll just have to see what we have when we start pushing it out. If the snowmaking makes it all the way through the day today, which it should, and it really hits 10 tonight then we're talking a TON of snow. I pushed out the base area last night near the bottom of the blue chair and white, and there was a lot of snow there from the portable, so i think I'll see if we can get it put up in the park somewhere. I also pushed as much as i could sneak up into the park so we could use as much of the stuff that is in the park for park type stuff. The worst part of building the park this year sadly has nothing to do with how much snow, but how much time. I'm in the middle of my final projects for school and I have a TON to do, and I have class most of the day Thursday, but hopefully between Tom and Sweetie and I, we can get it all set up. Plus with all of the great snowmaking temps right now it is going to be really difficult to set the rails somewhere they won't get buried. But as Billups has stated we plan on doing quite a bit of setting Wednesday Night, and then when they shut down the guns Thursday morning, or during the AM we'll see if we have what it will take to build some "non-rail features" haha. Hope to see you all out there.
Tad

Well I just drove by on my way home from school and my car said it was 14 degrees at the top, and theres not a cloud in the sky, so I think 10 might be a little high haha. Seriously though, you guys should be so stoked for opening day. Waiting has sucked, but it looks so good down there. Snow everywhere, and lots of it, and there's still 2 more nights of snowmaking to go. It's going to be a long 39 hours haha.

I know. Today I was thinking about how insane the amount of snow will be opening day.

I still wish I could have skied on whatever they had last weekend, but this opening will be mind blowingly epic. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks snowmaking crew!

First off id like to thank everyone who made today possible, it was the shit! As for suggestions; lower the hand rail just a tad. Id also like to add a suggestion of what to put in the park this year, that blue plastic 50 gallon drum setup as a bonk/tap. That is always fun.

Shoulda swapped the slanted box location with the 30, that way you could just bomb the line and not worry bout speed checking ever.
Sick opening day, stoked for tmrw.
