SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

Rails still need work. The rider isn't smooth enough yet with his physics to be able to expect the player to setup up a rail perfectly. This makes it too difficult to cleanly slide a whole rail. Also needs to be some type of shifty onto a rail so you can just be 90 on instead of continuously spinning when I get on.

I don't wanna start an argument but I find it similar to hitting a rail in real life. You gotta come on at a slight angle. You can also do small shifties and perfect 90s onto the rail. They also made it easier to stay on longer rails easier

I kind of agree. The more you play it the easier it gets. But there should be some way to balance yourself on the rail. Like the rails that kink horizontally are almost impossible to ride the whole thing. Because the riders momentum can't change to accommodate

Use the right stick - depends on which way you're facing while sliding, so try out different combinations.

I've tried pushing down on the stick and just pointing it with no luck lol

First off let me say I've had nothing but compliments for the game and it's devs. Overtime I have made a post in the subreddit or elsewhere I have been helped and more times than not the god damn CEO has responded to me so that really says a lot about the company. What I wanted to ask was if more brands were on their way into the game. Companies like 4FRNT, Saga, ON3P, Revision and my personal favorite: Majesty. It would be so cool to be able to perfectly replicate my setup that I have IRL.

Also stickers would be rad.

We're doing our best, so I'm glad that you appreciate our commitment and transparency. The entire team takes part in communicating with the community so that you know your voice is being heard.

We talked to a few of the companies that you listed but never finalized deals. We've been focusing on new snowboard brands for the last few months, but would be more than happy to talk with these skiing brands too.

May have already been asked/answered, but is it coming to mac? I can't find anything on it.

One of the first questions in the FAQ :)

When does the exclusivity agreement run out with Sony this year? I've been playing SNOW on my computer which, while it can do it, isn't the newest thing out there. I'd rather support SNOW than Steep since i've been playing but I have an Xbone

Exclusivity will expire this year, and we're already in contact with Microsoft to investigate a release on the Xbox One. No dates set yet.

That's nice to hear! I imagine there are quite some people who would like to play it on the Box

Hey Poppermost team.

First up mad props for putting out an ill game. Hundreds of summers will be filled with stoke instead of depression. Just got a few questions that other might want answered. I've noticed from the couple hundred hours I've sunk in over 2 years that the trick recognition still isn't the best. I have multiple clips of me doing rodeo 5's, cork 9's, 12's and 14's that register a 180 under the actual rotation. I'm sure you guys are all ready aware of this issue and are working on a fix. Couple requests which might be sick. Skiing without poles?? Could be a thing. Not to many animation tweaks I presume? Then again my coding ended at Visual Basic. The characters head also doesn't always follow the direction of the spin. This would just look better tbh. Also, would awarding a small increase of points to switch tricks hurt or just adding the switch prefix to the trick counter in the bottom left? Last thing is I feel more points should be award for tricks off and on rails.

Cheers Poppermost. Keep at the good work. Trust me it's only just starting to pay off. You guys have great things to come.

He's barely touching on the stick. That's how he's pulling it off.

i feel like this game is dead. Haven't come out with a real update in 4-5 months and don't respond to facebook comments.

Not dead at all, but as a small team of 7 we can't reply to every comment posted on social media. If you have a question, feel free to email us (info@poppermost.se), message us directly on Faceboook, Tweet at us, or join our Discord channel (discord.gg/SNOWthegame).

We are working on updates but had some maintenance to do to the game engine to allow us to support PS4 and future console releases. We have updated the game with X Games Aspen and Norway 2017 and will share more news about the next update soon.

Hope that helps!

Just downloaded Snow for the first time. You guys killed it and it's a super fun game. I have a few ideas that would make the game so much better, so I hope you read this.

1. Popping. I find it really frustrating that you cannot turn while crouching before you pop. This makes rails and boxes very difficult and even when you get on a rail it's not very fun because you need to concentrate really hard to position yourself right. I get that if you don't have that feature you can't wind up, which will cause you to throw huge spins when you don't want to. But if it's possible you can change the windup to a separate button. (If you've ever seen Youriding Freeski they have a pop button and a windup button that are separate, and you can turn while using both of these). This is the only thing that drastically affects the gameplay and it would be really awesome if you could change this.

2. Credits. I think that around 600 credits by level 60 is not enough. I say this because most skis cost near 300 credits which means you can't really have more than 2 skis which is absurd compared to a number of great skis you have in the store. I think you should have enough credits when you reach the max level to buy one of each piece of gear (skis, jacket, poles etc.). This way you could completely customize your character. Also, it would be cool if you could unlock gear by completing events.

Thanks for creating a great game and I hope you could take these ideas into consideration because it would make the game even better.

Glad you like the game! Here are some answers to your feedback:

1. This has always been a discussion - half the users want to be able to turn while holding jump, the other half don't. We find that limiting your ability to turn while preparing to pop adds a level of complexity to the gameplay which requires practice. You need to commit to your direction earlier if you want to get the full pop power. This means that getting bigger pops in tighter spaces is harder, which we think it should be. We'll have a look at what YouRiding does, but I don't think we'll make any significant changes anytime soon.

2. By level 70 you earn over 1,000 Credits, which can unlock you 2 features or buy you more than an entire outfit. We think this is more than fair but are still looking to make changes to the leveling system in the future. This is something we're working on right now and hope to have more news about soon.

Hope that helps! Thanks again for playing and supporting the game - and of course for your feedback!

2 questions on the game, absolutely love it btw, awesome job. For one, im wondering are there any plans for new ski brands/ updated ski models and outerwear coming into the game at any point soon? Would love to see On3p or tall t or something. Also, is there any big credit reward hitting for level 100? Coming up on it soon

More brands are on the way, but right now only snowboarding brands (boo, I know!) We'd love to work with On3p/TallT but need to get into contact with them.

Right now Level 70 is the max level and you will earn 150 Credits. In total you earn over 1,000 from 0-70.

Hey snow developers if you are reading this

I have played this game to the point of not being able to advance to higher levels. My only request is that you put in some ON3P skis into the game, and include dynamic ski flex, and options to butter. Your game is dope.

I'm not a developer, but you can do butters right on a lip. I hold jump and triangle and just turn into a direction, you gotta time it PERFECTLY or else you just launch to the side of the jump lol. But you can definitely get a 2 out before you take off.

I'm sure all of the following were mentioned before, but I finally have the specs to play it and:

Multiplayer is extremely laggy. Seeing as my ping is around 50, I think it's server-side

My graphics card isn't recognized by the game, and resultingly the game is stuck in 640x480. Other games do recognize it, so I'm a little uncertain as to what to do there. Someone posted a fix on the steam forums, but It references some save folder I don't have.

All this aside, I love this game. To say the least it's a step forward from jibbin+

Ok thanks, thought i knew everything to the game but apparently not. Thanks

Of course we are reading this :) We'd love to partner with ON3P and Saga and will find a way to get in touch with them. Dynamic Ski Flex (that includes a more accurate physics modelling of buttering) and leg suspension has been prototyped but is quite far away from being implemented. So much more can go wrong, but we've proven it can work internally and just need to find the time to add it to the game.

Glad you like the game otherwise!

We're aware of the multiplayer server issues. In our recent blog post (here) we mention that the new game engine upgrade might help fix this.

If you're having issues with the game, please email us (bugs@poppermost.se) or join our Discord (discord.gg/SNOWthegame) and ask for help. Can't do tech support in a forum thread! :D

We're starting to show off a new urban-focused mountain, which we hope to release later this summer. The mountain is called Whiteridge and we're going to be showing more shots from it through our Instagram channel over the next few weeks www.instagram.com/poppermost

Here's a sneak peak!

to be honest though getting credits is the most grueling grind i have ever experienced in any video game

We're working on more ways to earn Credits to make it less grind-y. But remember, purchasing Credits allows our small, self-financed team to keep working on the game :)

Are you charging for the new urban level or is it free for all?

Will be a paid level. But it also includes a bunch of events that reward with a full 'urban' outfit. And the level is incredibly dense so there's plenty of gameplay in it. So I think it's worth it!

i reckon you should put in backslides/ frontslides they could be the left and right arrow keys i dunno bout ps4 also ollies are so floaty
