SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

Shut the fuck up.

Thanks for the update guys, I think you're doing a great job of keeping us updated.

Everything has basicly already been asked for in this thread. But I think it would be great if riding and most importantly landing switch in pow looked really scetchy(spelling) and not as robotic as in Shredsauce. More motion or something like that so that it looks harder than riding switch in the parks

^ agreed try to make the body act fluidly like in freakout: extreme freeride, the landing were pretty good in that game.

We are currently completely redoing all of our animations. Once we have a larger handful completed, we will share them with our community so that you guys can provide feedback before we finalise them.

We have already planned to have various landing animations based on the size of the jump, how smoothly you land and if you land regular or switch.

We just launched a competition to help us design our mountain's logo. Check it out here!

The winner of the competition will get their name somewhere on the mountain, immortalised forever!

i didnt look at earler posts or what has been said but if it is an online world where you can see everyone like test drive unlimited 1 and 2 it would be sick

yeah,Cant wait for mac release though, since I have a mac.

keep up the good work, game looks absolutely sick!

SNOW will feature online modes where you can compete against or just ride around with your friends. Making a persistent online world is a huge undertaking and something that we are not sure will improve the overall experience, so for now, it is not planned.

thats awsome for not a huge company like sega(company who made tdu2) cant wait sooooooo pumped.

doesn't sound like there will be a mac release...

but i did check out the myTP for iphone that someone posted earlier, and if you do have a MAC, you can play for free online... takes a while to get used to and the controls are a little shaky, but sweet parks and you can customize everything. check it out!:

yeah i felt the same way. I emailed the developers telling them to fix the keyboard controls, esp the arrow keys.. idk it has potential but the spins are a little unrealistic. i just like all the different "real-world" maps.

between shredsauce, gnarshmalllow, youriding, and myTP, you would think someone would absolutely nail it. right now our boy malcom is the closest.

I have a feeling this is going to be the game we all play for dope pow/cliff droppin/BC booters... etc. And Shredsauce is gonna keep getting better for the park scene. If only we had some urban shiz...

If you could maybe post a video of some work done on the game, maybe a little gameplay? If that could come b4 the weekend it would be great!

Our goal is to offer both amazing pow AND great park features in one open-world. Eventually, this will also include urban areas.

As we're dedicated to creating the best game possible, we will be welcoming feedback on all aspects of the game and iterating on to make sure the core community is happy with the gameplay.

As for a release date, we're still ready to announce one.

you guys should try and make SNOW be similair to like skate games where you could free roam the urban areas and have preloaded urban you have to find and ski which would be cool! or you can take your skis off and run around the mtn and or hike around in the park and building your own park people would love, also similair to skate and shred sauce. try to bring the game back SSX ticky or sumthing. so you can do huge flips and corks off jumps, but not as a course as a free roam so its like skiing a atcual resort!

Since the beginning of the project, SKATE has been the main inspiration behind SNOW. The mountain we are creating is massive and will let you ride from the summit in any direction all the way down to the dense forest areas or urban/park areas that lie in its circumference.

Eventually, we want to allow users to build their own parks and share them through our game. Until then, we will be constantly adding and updating our parks and man-made features to keep users engaged and entertained.

Unfortunately, though our technology does work on both Xbox and PS3, releasing the game on those platforms is far from easy.

The biggest hurdle is the need to have a licensed publisher backing the project. As the big publishers like EA, Activision and Ubisoft are rarely interested in new IPs, it is unlikely that SNOW will make it to consoles.

That being said, if SNOW is successful on PC maybe a publisher will be interested in getting it on consoles.

Over the last week we've been receiving submissions for our Sialia Logo competition. We just posted all of them and are now asking the community to vote for their favourites by "liking" the logo they like best.

Check it out here.

Are the images actually in game graphics or are they just concept art? They all look really good by the way.

PC for now. We are building the game with CryENGINE 3 which only supports PC (though there are rumors of a Linux version, which would open it up to Mac as well)

dat forward lean.
