SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

The easy way of finding it is to open the Start menu and search for game.log, otherwise it'll be with the SNOW game files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SNOW.

I think I saw someone try this earlier in this thread, but I cant seem to find it now. I have a 13 inch macbook pro from 2010 with a windows 7 partition. It has 4 gigs of ram and a NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB. The system requirements in steam recommend 512mb graphics card. Will I be able to run it on lower settings or should I save my 15 bucks?

I have practically the same specs with a early 2011 15', and it works but I have to run it on shitty res and shitty quality. Even then in the new update it doesnt really work that well. Cant wait for optimisations!!

You already have the eject/ restart button so I was thinking it could be cool if you could parachute/ ski base jump the larger unrealistic cliffs that no one would ever dare jumping off of with just skis.

Another thing, you guys need pole planting, I will say it until I die, riding around looks boring and well typical green trail rider style when the guy doesn't plant with his fairly neutral shit stance. I know you want a park balance but maybe you can designate areas where an aggressive stance is true kind of deal.

You realize that pole plants can only be accomplished with actual, correct length poles. All of the poles in game are park poles that are like waist high. Have you ever tried pole planting with park poles? Does not work.

I hope you guys push out an update soon. I still can't use the park and I'm really starting to miss it. Hasn't worked for about a month for me.

I sent my game.log over to them and apparently I have a shading issue that is unique to me/very few have it. It's a bug. So I have to wait until they release a fix for it in an update eventually.

But there's plenty of mountain to ski

Sorry to hear about your issues. The next build fixes a few shader compilation crashes that might have caused your issue.

The build will also include the first draft of Multiplayer. Can't give an ETA yet though.

We have also just added the giftable version of SNOW to all users that have purchased the Founders Pack.

Use this to invite a friend to play SNOW and prepare for the upcoming Multiplayer Update!

How do you mean, 'buffers'?

Just to be sure it's not a hardware issue, please list your PC specs (CPU, Graphics, RAM, OS)

shame I couldn't find a better gif, that isn't overused, to describe my feelings towards this comment. Oh well. Great to hear you guys are entering the world of multiplayer. It's gonna be very interesting to say the least. Can't wait until I get home from college so I can play some Snow :)

i think we are aiming at around 8 per server for now though that isn't confirmed until it's live :)

You will have access to the entire mountain and just ride around like you do in Free Roam, but now with your friends.

sweet, whats next on your near future timeline? I really want to see an update to the mountain that adds more varied terrain, like spines and those wind-blown overhangs at the tops of mountains you can jump off of. If you add some urban ( Just a few jumps/rails) in that little village and add a spawn point there that would be sick as well. For the spines/mountain drop you could locate them on the mountain on the other side of the dam/lake.

For actual features I know its on the list but I think the most important feature is session markers, followed closely by terrain editor ( like the item drop in skate, so you can add a rail or kicker anywhere and make BC jumps.

I love how the game is progressing, and this new update is going to be awesome. Keep it up!!

I know for certain after this multiplayer update that they will be continuing to refine the player physics and make it more dynamic, so you can start skiing in a more natural way.

guys, give me a hint plz, never used steam before, so how do i lower the graphics settings? can't really enjoy the game with low fps on my laptop

No Settings UI exists yet, so open the console (~) and put in sys_spec 1. It goes from 1-4; 1 being low and 4 being ultra.

OR

Change the sys_spec in the system.cfg from 2 to 1. system.cfg is located in SNOW's root directory (C:/PRogram Files/Steam/steamapps/common/SNOW) and can be opened with notepad.

Oh I forgot to mention that the sytem config route is a permanent solution so you won't need to continually enter it every time you boot the game.

So we just pushed a new build with a bunch of great content, most importantly we have implemented our first pass of Multiplayer which is now live in the SNOW Test version of the game that Tester and Founders should have in their library. It's a basic implementation, so please read this before playing.

- Added Multiplayer to the Test build - Accessible for Testers and Founders pack buyers until it's stable enough for the main game. Discuss and report bugs here.

- Integrated Steam Cloud, characters will now be automatically synched.

- Reworked menu - Store will be redone soon.

- Tweaked turning for controllers.

- Added support for statistic tracking and achievements.

- Implemented new Main Menu redesign (still work-in-progress)

- Oculus Rift now officially supported and can be enabled in Settings Menu

We have also added a big bunch of new branded items as well. A more detailed list can be found here.

My HDD on my laptop broke, and SNOW was installed on it, is there a way to redownload it on my desktop? I wont have my laptop fixed for a while, and want to try the multiplayer.

Spin speed seems to be slowed down by a lot for keyboard controls. Fast spin seems to be the same but slow spins are just way too slow...

I wouldn't make a vid, but I'd love to take some screen shots. Sadly, I couldn't find a way to join a lobby. Either that, or there no one was hosting a session.
