trust me when I tell you that our home mountian will blow snow for a few hours if that is all they can because of temperatures. Peak resorts son Jesse Boyd runs our hill - his father Tim, looks to be saying the same thing for you guys..

"Now there's nothing we can do to change the weather, but let it be known that we plan to open as soon as there's enough snow on the ground to let boards and skis slide over it. We have no "opening day" inked on a calendar in the General Manager's office - our opening day happens when we see those magic digits on the thermometer and we fire up our gleaming new fan guns. So bring your tomato plants inside and pray for frost.

At noon today, it's 58 degrees, which means we're just 26 degrees away from that magic number 32. The National Weather Service reports that it will drop to 31 degrees this Saturday night. Whether it will hold long enough to blow snow... we'll see."

Mount Snow is really pushing their new snowmaking upgrades bigtime.

Even if they are not able to blow any, the fact that they are considering stokes me that ski season is not all that far off.

dont make the assumption that mountains cant/wont blow snow in temps over 30 degrees. they can blow when its warmer, its called the venturi nozel/effect. they can blow good snow when its like 45

They can blow it, but it is way too wet and sticky to actually ski on. And next week is going back up in the 60's so it is pointless to blow any now.
