Snoqualmie/Alpental Thread

I used the searchbar and there werent really any recent threads that

just talked about snoqualmie/alpental updates, like the park, snow,

road conditions, or w/e . I wanted to see one of these threads since

thats my local mountain, and I just want to know whats up.

Anyways. Snoqualmie is adopting the park pass.

Today park crew was trying to enfore a park pass. For what I know so far, its for central park only.

There

is a little teepee shaped shack next to central express where you have

to watch a 20min video/sign a release form and you get a park pass, You get a little sticker to put on your pass. Its free. The next time for the video posted on the window

of the shack.

Its not well inforced yet, you can just go under

the orange boundry tape easily and the cat track still connects to the

park so you can access it easily. I'm pretty sure it wont work that

well but i guess its worth a try?

The snow was nice today, not wet and all that heavy and lots of fun in the powder, it was pretty deep.

I had fun today/got owned a lot. Ya the park pass was enforced 0%. But hopefully it will get better. Every run I'd hear little kids like "It's ok, they're not checking!" as they fell their way down to the jumps.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the setup. The 2nd jump was a bit hard to clear, which sucked a few times, but got a bit better when the sun went down. As allways the mini wall ride's take off gets beat up fast, but was still hittable, yet I could not get a handplant over it. The take off to the DFD rail should be further back from the rail. The C/side of the toll bridge was caked in ice, which I found out the hard way.

I just can't wait till the pipe gets cut! I got Pipe Cleaners that need to do some cleanin!

Hand drags got the best of me a few times, leading to death, but it was deffinetly the best day of the yar so far. Sunny as balls.

Man I wish we could edit posts on here. Here's an easier to read version before I leave.

Yeah the setup is real tight up there. I am digging the large jump onto the FDF box at the bottom. The two kickers at the bottom are super smooth and it is making for some soft landings.

I am glad school starts tomorrow for most high schools because it has been super busy the past few days. I don't start school until the 7th, so I will be up there every day this week.

Wow interesting on the park pass. Awesome that they're doing it, but yeah I think there is no way they can enforce it how its all setup, unlike stevens. Still very cool though, I'm a big fan of the idea.

yeah thats great... now they just need to hire about 5 more people to actually enforce it as well as stevens. and maybe put up actual nets, rather than just the regular streamer things for the boundaries of the park. it sucks for them because they have entrances in the upper and lower parks.... im interested to see how well this goes and what solutions they come up with, if any.

I really like how Stevens is pretty strict. On Monday a couple of old gapers just cruised into the park saying they had passes and blew past the employees. One employee said "I got this one" and rode after their ass which was sweet.

rep it!

it looked like they were having trouble cause all i saw was one guy trying to enforce the park pass haha.

okay so today the park crew tried enforcing it better, from when i got there till like 2 pm. There were 3 people at the entrance, a few scattered around to look for those who ducked under the lines/tape. There were about so many people at the entrance of the shack where you get your pass. It was very crowded, sometimes likr 50 people waiting, and it can only fit 30. Today I think helped because many people thought they needed to get their passes. I have not seen the top part of the park soo empty ever. It was kind of weird. They made some progress and some iimpression on people, i finally got mine. Its still not enforced well at all.

That's good to hear that they're trying harder. I honestly think they should clip people's PARK passes for doing stupid shit like going off the sides of take offs. That seems fair to me because it's not really hurting the people except for making it really inconvienent because they have to wait in line and watch the video again. However, this idea assumes having the park pass is being really enforced and everyone has one to clip. There't not much to do about the people that don't have one and break the rules, cept clip their real passes, which is pretty harsh, but I would totally support it.

I mean, us strong, fast skiers get our passes clipped for skiing backwards or fast and jumping on slow runs, so why shouldn't gapers get their passes clipped for skiing slow and unskilled in our parks?

Just go up to the gappers your self and act all official. ask to see their park pass and if they don't have one pull/clip their real ticket/pass. I would do it if I had one slim chance of looking 'official'

i like that idea a lot! you think snoqualmie would get pissed if they found out? hmmm I think i'll start doing that... not clipping passes cause i don't wan mine clipped, but asking to see park passes. hahahahaha

the videos pretty gay, that atml shit was repeated probly 50 times, but its worth it just to keep fags out of the park

the park at central is the only decent one up there. but they need more jumps. at the top the whole left side(looking downhill) is open. they got fine rails and boxes, but definitly need to learn to build jumps. the little ones are fine for throwing 5's but the bigger ones have the weirdest take offs and everytime you hit them the needed speed changes its weird haha

but bout the park pass- im gonna try and grab an extra form and put it up on here so people dont have to watch the video and wait in that line. shitttttt its so long. oh and just forge the signature if you have to, i doubt they even care.

^dog the second jump is about the best jump central has had. you just gotta dip fool. i bet your fives were sick as fuck though, especially since they were on the 5 foot tables. step your game up haha one time.

Hey guys, my dads going to be out of town so i have no way of getting to the pass for about 4 weeks, besides friends. If you could I would appreciate it a lot. I will help pay for your food/gas and I live along I-90 sort of.

Anyone going tomorrow night?

I'll be heading up on Friday after school, so like around noon to catch the night riding at central... hopefully the fractured rib won't give me too much of a problem

*sigh*

no one going sunday?

help me decide here,

I cant go Saturday but i will have to skip a tennis match thing for this league. Our team coach is the same coach for my highschool and hes pretty tough guy. Go skiing? or coach not liking me, loosing trust and i will be kicked off the team

what time? i'm most likely going up after the hawks game ends. unless its raining. i have brown pants and a yellow and brown jacket with a white helmet w/ visor

hahhaah nice, yeah dude i skipped it. my mom is hella pissed. W/e ill be there after the hawks game!

go hawks!

I went earlier today and the visibility was horrid. Couldn't see 10 feet ahead of me... that and all the boxes and rails were caked in ice.... the only thing good that came out my trip was probably getting my park pass, finally.

kevin, it was slush and rain there most of time anyways. it was easilly the crappiest day for me so far this season. I was soaked

yo whose who up there? i was there tonight (sat night) and saw some people n' im sure it was some of you guys. just say your outfit

me- brown pants, yellow and brown jacket, white helmet w/ visor. any1 see me?
