Snoqualmie 09-10

Yesterday was super fun! Groomed perfectly and stayed cool enough to keep the snow firm, but not icy at all. Lips to everything were solid. Some new features up to:

top:

Down lift tower

Wide C-box back where it was early season

skiers right 3 hit line the same

middle: Up box, flat to down bow, then flat to down to flat dancefloors

skiers left: small step up then hip/table

SB wall ride

bottom:

Step down x 2

Step down x 2

Step up x 2

(lips although not poppy, were very firm consistent along with super defined knuckles, size aside, best jumps as far as neatness I have ever seen at central.)

flat down box w/rail

roller coaster box

flat lift tower (longer one) With a lip!

Skinny down box

double barrel down rail

c-box through the trees at the end.

didnt see the other side of the halfpipe

I was definatley havin fun on it, but it is pretty much how you would expect it to be. Pretty mellow but a fun addition. Would really like to see them put up the dfd or flat up flat... how ever they do it it doesnt matter, I just want that box on the mountain.

Im stoked to get up there tommarow night. anyone else going up Friday? but i wish they would put up the down-flat-down too

i was at timberline a few weeks ago and it was weird, the park crew there actually did stuff, they worked really hard to make sure the rails and jumps were perfect. And there were SKIERS ON PARK CREW!

Yesterday, Saturday the 27th i left my short poles up at snoqualmie right under central express on the road. they are black, gray and green. if anyone picked them up i would love to get those back. im going up today so if you have them and can bring them up that would be great. thanks for the help.

Well, today was eventful to say the least. A lot of you guys saw that my friends and I were hunched over Abe (aKrieg). He hurt himself on the third jump at about 11 o'clock. I drove him to the E.R. and it turns out he had a dislocated shoulder. They took X-rays twice and popped it back in. So he'll live, but it still sucks a lot. Who knows when he'll be able to ski again.
My brother said the rest of the day was fun, everyone was killin it from what I saw. Unfortunately my day was cut short, but it's all good, at least Abe got there. haha

nevermind. i went up today and they were laying in the same spot! today was so fun. anyone going up tuesday night?

word from ski patrol is one weekend maybe 2 left if they don't get any snow soon. and its not looking like they're gonna. alpy should last a bit though as long as the bottoms stays good enough

I wouldnt.
Your shoulder will have problems for the rest of your life, and will keep dislocating. Bones break, and they heal, normally just as strong. But both would suck.

I'm getting surgery tommorow. It will take 6 months for a full recovery, and then the shoulder will be at about 95%. I would love to break my collar bone. 6 weeks sounds wonderful.

ive heard from a ski patroller that theres gonna b some sort of comp at west or central, and that they will most likely close after this. snoqualmie website says nothing about it but it supposedly is a huge event. anyone have info? oh and wondering whether p and pd will be moved forward or just cancelled

I think your thinking of the Ride Shake Down which is a international snowboard contest it might be a big air event but im not to sure. it will be at west. as of the season being done after that, i have no idea. hope not! seems like this year just went way to fast :(

does anyone have any word about the big jump up top?
if they pushed all of that snow into a landing and don't make an actual jump i'll be super pissed.
my vote says demolish the current jump in the top of the park and make a huge fucking stepover instead.

I passed on school today to go skiing.

There are now two jumps at the top (both step ups?), then the six on the lower half of the park.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
can you describe them a little better?
do they have the small one up top and then the huge stepover?
and i assume that 6 jumps = 3 jumps with two takeoffs...

Hmmmm, well, I have quite a limited park vocab. Let me just describe them. haha

There's the C-box at the top near the entrance, and a box even above that. Lower, to the skier's right, there are the typical rails/boxes. Under the lift, there's a smaller stepup/jump and to skier's left, there's quite the pile o' snow for the larger jump/step up (I believe you're talking about this). It's not huge, but it's bigger than anything else at the top.

Then the lower half is as it has been for a while. Yeah, the three jumps with two takeoffs each, the two larger jumps adjacent to the pipe are still closed and the right of the pipe has a few jumps and jibs.

Have fun attempting to map out what I just crapily described!

haha, ok. that definitely helps!
is that bigger jump (skier's left) at the top of the park built? like, is there an actual kicker for it? because on sunday they only had the landing built...

Yeah, there's a kicker. Snowboarders were overshooting it allllll day, haha

There were seriously like two non-gapic skiers there today and 100 snowboarders. sighhhh

i was rocking my dads two year old seths mounted 8 inches back...

fuck breaking skis. i did have a good time fucking with everyone though.
