Snoqualmie 09-10

^he's right...and show some respect for people who have been killin snoqualmie before you started skiing....

Today was horrible! Started out at alpental and there was 3 inches on top of solid ice. Then went over to central with my long poles while is was snowing/raining

the snowpack is real funky, like 1-5" windblown sitting ontop of a 1/2" boilerplate rain crust ontop of compact saturated snow. the more broken up the better, hopefully tonighs precip brings more consistent snow

do you think it would be a bad idea to head up to alpy on saturday with the weird snow layers or would it be ok?

so did snoqualmie learn how to build jumps or not?
that video is confusing me, the landings look half decent, and the skier is getting some good air time, but those take offs look really quick, like they could buck you pretty easy for switch take offs.

The second jump last year was decent most of the time, but it had a flat landing. It hurt even if you landed square, and if you fell it was bad news. Then near the end of the season to rectify the problem, they chopped off the top half of the takeoff.

I never had much problems with the big second jump. but the first one would kick me in wierd ways every now and then. it was really short and kinda sunkn in the middle at times. Towards the end of the year it would also lean a little.

overall snoquisies jump line is sweet.

this...

i really like snoqualmie's jumps this year so far... even though they raped my skis and now i'm stuck buying a new pair of park skis and bindings...

alpy today was pretty sweet. couldn't feel the crust up high and the snow was pretty heavy but it was the best skiing ive had in a while.

the avi danger was pretty bad everything was sliding on the crust layer about 8 to 12 inches down but what slid was like a sluff and slid really slow. on multiple occasions i skied something and looked back up to see about a foot crown sometimes 30 feet wide and wouldn't have known if i hadn't turned around

Anyone planning on going tomorrow, 1/3/10? I'm thinking of going but don't know if I want to deal with the rain they're forecasting....

me and some buddies are planning on hitting alpy. from previous posts and from what some people have told me, chair 2 should be pretty nice. i think the rain hasn't reached the top but if it ends up being shit we'll be at central.

gl tomorrow g

peter, buddy i hate to call you out like this but comeon man...did you even hit the second jump before they cut it down and moved it foward?

chair 2 was sick today but snow was a little heavy. snake dance was closed and we found some awesome untouchies out there. I have to post this funny crash vid, i cliped a rock at the top of a 25footer...

should be up in a couple days :)

anyone know if its supposed to be sunny tommorow? cause i might come up and film but i dont wanna waste gas if its shitty
