Snoqualmie 08-09

I'm going up tomorrow after class. It won't be the best conditions (heard it was semi heavy today), so I'm not going to Alpental, but it should be fun to play around central! I'm bringing my park skis, fat skis, and a snowboard. It will be not a day for progression, but for super fun....ness....

O ya I forgot to add. As of Tuesday, the second jump is retarded money balls now. Instead of just being smart, normal people, and making the landing steeper......they made the take off smaller, closer, and a ton less lippy.......

I really am disappointing in Snoqualmie's park on so many levels this year. Not because it sucks ass, but because every feature is very close to being awesome, but they fuck it up on some way that completely ruins it.

i.e.

-the second jump situation

-the "take off"(if you can call it that) to the Flat-Down....goodbye fun disaster spins

-The take off on the Lift Tower Rail (They did have it nice, big, and a couple feet away from the rail for a few days, so props for that small amount of time, but its fucked again more than ever now)

-many other take offs that are tiny around the park

O and one more thing. The day the new C box was setup I hit it first run, and ended up smashing my brand new Pipe Cleaner edge on a nail head that was sticking up from the plexy and fell hard. Luckily there was no severe damage to the ski. I had to tell the Park Crew, and they did fix it. But something in me letting people bash themselves on pretruding nails, then fixing it, is not better than giving the box a once over when they set it up. It could have been someones face catching the nail head, and not my ski.

All I can say is that my spring break starts after tomorrow, and I will definitely be spending my time at Stevens, or scraping together some cash and heading to Whistler. I need to get this Snoqualmie-ness shaken off me.

I had to vent a little. I am studying for finals right now and needed a break

Tiny as hell. They had it big, and a couple feet back a couple weeks ago. And the tower was really high. Now for some reason the jump is eating the rail again, because I guess they thought it was too long? And wanted to only be able to slide half of it? Even less is you want to go fast and actually make it to the 6ft away landing?

They always get sooo ridiculously close to having an amazingly fun and nice feature, but then just ruin it somehow. It's like being just slightly out of reach from a nice park, and they keep dangling it in front of our faces. Were starving hobos being given a huge feast, but then they shear shit all over the food. I mean yeah, were starving and it's all we have, so we're going to eat it. But why the fuck couldn't you have just given us the feast without the shit on it!

I was there tonight with AStyle. good stuff...except it was raining and the 2nd jump got sketchy towards the end of the night. you had to land the first one pretty damn well to get enough speed to barely clear the second.

yeah beau.... but, you missed an epic day at crystal. i skied with matt and others, and we built a pretty good jump in south backcountry

^

epic until we realized that we had no food or water...

the most times people hit the jump was twice...

then we went down and it was raining.

the jump itself was pretty nice though

haha it was so tiny but it was fun. patrick and I and a couple of others are probably going to build it up more like we were going to before it started raining.

Who was there saturday? It was only like the second day of my season, but it was almost like the best day ever!

fuck fuck fuuuuuuuuuuuck. finger in your ass. blunts i sure wont pass. got more nut room then mr. kass, smell that shit, i got the better indica gas so please do harreass you european cig cough, out that plum curprise eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggghhhh chronical inflamitory deisease. heeeeeeeeeeeeella so much over weight i cant go on or see. read. just get. hiher. must be higher. get so. stay. dont help. conserve. the . green. bring my lunch money. see you all march 28

so, word on the street is that they built a step-up at the top half of the park (where the jib line was) and now all of the jibs where the stall-tire-polejam lane was.

^word on the street is true dude. went up tinight

its a pretty big step up, a little more lip would be nice so you could drop into the landing a little more instead of just boosting over it (if you get to much speed). its also a double lipped jump, so its got a shorter table-lip. its for sure fun, but im not diggin the new jib set up. the old flat-tube is now a down tube and ridiculous urban ollie on. makes spinning off tough. also moved the down rail over there, kept same tho. they put tube-jam thing that shoots you above the ground, which is fun. 1 more thing i forgot too.

The last thing is just the butter box.

Yeah, the step up is nice, but needs more lip on both take offs. You have to go mach 1 into it, then only get a little bit it air time. I love the steep landing though. It's perfect for a lippy take off.

wow seriously, they could make the jump way bigger, damn.. push back the lip another 10 or 20 feet and add more lip. it has the potential to be really awesome. and the jip set up looks like it can be cool. but kind close together

they put the pipe tower out, and put the pipe in as a down, a so the pipe tower is now a big up rail, with no urban get on. has some 630 out potential!

total bullshit dude. plenty poppy, if the lips were any more poppy the landing would fucking suck. i went way too high a few times and raped my knees. i was throwing rodeos off it so it's definatly high enough for inverts and shit.

it's a smooth jump, it could be better, but it's good. everyone's pretty quick to point out the shitty parts, but i'm gonna go ahead and say it's better than where i was skiing in minnesota last year.

I finally saw the step up.

It might be my favorite jump of the season. It just feels so nice and you don't even feel the landing. Its like landing on a pillow but it could use more lip. I don't think it is like 35 and 30 feet though. Maybe its like 20 and 25 feet.

Dude, Snocrummy, I mean Snoqualmie sucked balls this year. Except for like 3 pow days, the snow sucked. there wasnt much snow to speak of, although it was snowing on the way over today, but its proly that heavy, wet, sticky shit again. This was an El Nino year though, so hopefully next season will be better. it better be.

look on the brightside budy. all this snow might be wet and heavy but atleast its snow and it still counts when it comes to prolonging the season, which will just make for another kick ass spring like last year!

less people paying for lift tickets = less time running the chairs because it cost lots of $$$... majority of the people that ski this time of the year are season pass holders and the summit needs more gapers to by lift tickets keep the green paper in their pockets ... pretty much sucks cuz it happens anyways regardless of the snow
