Sno Mtn.

my source tells me the 22' Zaugg should be on the hill sometime next week.

i'll be there Sunday and Monday. i'll find out more if i can.

It's been a week...................... is it there? sorry for appearing antagonistic, but Zaugg announces who has the big cutters on thier website and there is no mention of Sno.. Sopme other sources have said that they did not buy directly from Zaugg, but hey.. thats all second and third hand info...

No big deal - it could also be that it is probably being borrowed from another source.

BTW are they closed again for tonight due to weather or lack of ticket sales or both?

well i finally skied today and i hated it the 13 foot pipe sucked and the small park is gone and the big one was closed lame i hate sno right now

The pipe was made icy last nigh, but they had alot of pow. When i first got there it was like snowing tennis balls hahah. but it made everything like sooo slow, you coulnd't even move. as the night went on it got alot better. the Jumps blew but the rails were pretty legit.

The 22' Pipe Monster from Zaugg has arrived at SNO - there is no indication of when or if there will be enough snow to actually build one though. Neptune was due in this weekend, correct?

Maybe you guys will/built a quarter pipe or something with it?

Ryan, I have to say you talk a lot of shit on sno for riding it daily. Us I don't understand how you think park crew doesn't do our job. In the begining of the year when the small park was open, ya we didn't do our job, but now that the big park is open we maintain it a lot. The only thing I would say we don't maintain to much is the landings on the jumps. When the snow is hardpacked and icy there is no way we can fill those bomb holes in. There is shit crooked right now, that is because the one kid who works on park crew doesn't know how to set shit, and he worked from 12-7 one night with a groomer to keep it open. The park will be fully redone after the mid atlantic. Were taking all the snow from the jumps and everything just for the pipe. The im not sure if were going to start fresh for a new park, or just completly take the 22' down and build a whole new park with that snow. The park itself right now has a ton of flow and I love riding it over all over boulders parks, except for freedom park. The park will be really sick after Febuary tho. Hope to see you all the the Jib Achademy.

First off, that seems like a lot of work for little benefit. Right now my mountain has a pipe, and a tiny park. And I'd say that 99% of the customers (freestylers obviously) would rather have a park than pipe. It doesn't make sense to take down your park just to have a pipe.

And right now our park manager is seeing what he can do to take down the pipe to put up some kickers.

Do you think your pipe will be ridden more than your park? I doubt it. But that's just my opinion.

it absolutly does make sense cause pipe is so much better. haha i hope they do that i would love to ride a nice super soon. any body can point there board down the hill and jump on a rail. but pipe takes a lot more work that kids these days arnt willing to take the time to learn. all i ever want to ride is a good half pipe.

Well yes, in personal preference, I agree. I would much rather ride a pipe than park. But general public would rather have a park.

Dude I completely agree, but it's just not my call. If it were my call the 22' pipe would have its own designated slope. Our park would be so legit if all the snow piled to the side was spread out and used to make bigger jumps, and a huge rail line going down the right side of the slope. I just don't think that will be happening till after the mid atlantic tho.

i was just at sno mtn yesterday and they have a lot of the 22ft pipe finished because the wrecked the to jumps next to it

to much time put into this pipe that will bring in few people. They need a solid park before they should even have thought about the 22'

no one that i have seen in the 13ft pipe does spin or anything etheir i think they are just doing it to say the have the biggest pipe on the east coast

i know theres is a few kids who can spin out of the pipe but yes you are correct for the most part noone really can but i think the 22' super is more for the comps they are having but i could be wrong

I love this thread hahah. Im ragin it up on Thursday. Hopefully it's good. I looked in the paper this morning before i went to school and they ahd a picture of sno mtn on the little terrain park. It looked HORRIBLE! it looked like all slush and complete shit, it looked like i was skiing here..........

http://www.cloudmont.com/ hahahahah.

they have some fun rails in the small park and the big park if gone like nick said they are taking all the snow and making the 22' but i just want to ride park again im going thru withdrawals.

is the big pipe going to be open this weekend????? if it is i will vbe there if not boulder for me

thats what there website is claiming and if so you need to go the their website and print out the park pass form because its prob easier doing it that way then doing it there

"Loki’s Terrain Park Snö Mountain purchases new Zaugg allowing them to groom the only 22 half pipe on the East Coast paving the way for Olympic Training Ground. Grand Opening will be Sunday at 11am, February 24, 2008"

the only thing bad about the park pass is if your friendsa dont know you need it and then you can't ski in the park with them

why cant you ski with them they are free and all you need to do is fill out a concent form which they can do in the lodge and if they are under 18 they can pint it from their website and just bring it with them

sno is so gay, it is not opening the super pipe till sunday what the fuck is that. why wouldnt you want to have something open on satuerday. the whole vibe from the mountain is gay.

oh and from the pictures there wont be enough grade for the Pipe either fuckin gay

guess i will be at boulder.

I'm going up today and i know its going to be shit. Well when i get back i will post whats good with the park and everything...damn i wished i lived closer to Big Boulder.

from the pictures on the site 2 things. the slope doesnt have enough grade to maintain speed for a 22ft pipe. 2nd is not long enough for a good pipe. fromm the pictures your looking at 5 good hits max (that is total not per side) why do resorts waste money on things they wont build right.

i am just pissed cause i wanted a good super pipe to ride in the area but guess i have to go to springs or vt for that

the slope is steeper then what it looks like in the pictures though and im not saying its crazy steep but steeper then what it looks like

The pipe was measured today. It's a little bit over 22', and it's about 270' long. The drop in was being put up tonight, not sure how big that's going to be tho. Neptune is suppose to be in on Sunday to ride it.

They are out of time to make more snow and have it ready for march 1st, they also pushed snow from their jumpline - I am fairly certain that the only reason the pipe is happening is because they are committed to hosting one of the stops of the Revolution Tour which is a big on the snowboarding comp circuit.

last night there was a pretty fair amount of snow, the jumps blowed. The jibs were pretty good too, even though the pipe is 270ft it look soooo much bigger.

270 is super gay. that is max five hits in a super pipe are u fucking kidding me. why even build it then

GAY!!!!!!!!!

Yep, correct. If you think about it, it will take soo much snow to built a 500' pipe. Like this pipe is made out of all snow and I just cant wait till they knock it down and spread it all out so we can get the whole width of the slope open to put all of our rails up. As for next year they will be doing some dirt work in the summer and hopefully we can get its own designated trail for it because it just takes up so much of that slope. Sno's park can be so legit if we had that whole extra part. We didn't get to put up a few rails this year and if it weren't for this huge pipe we would have a kick ass flowy park.
