Smoother landings

Hey boys so I'm starting to stomp lil 180s and sloppy 3s but when I'm not jist jibbing and hitting bigger jumps my landings are awful. I think I'm backseating so what are some tips for sexier, less painful landings.

P.S stay healthy next season will be here in no time

I remember when I was first starting to "stomp" jumps and get out of the backseat, it was painful on my feet to actually "stomp" right through my boots, not landing on my tails first. If you can get through that initial discomfort, you'll learn how to flex into your boot and stomp that shit without pain.

it just takes time and repetition, steeze comes naturally after a while. 2 years ago my brother didn't learn any new tricks, but he focused on tricks he could do. now he has loads of style

Sick steeze is the ultimate goal

Keep a wider stance and pressure in the front of your boots. Remember, you need to keep your center of gravity parallel to the ground and not the angle of the jump, which requires pressure on the tongues of your boots. (Until you start getting fkn corked)

other steeze tips include:

Skiing with skis very close together and standing tall with good posture

Sick afterbang even after a sketchy or easy trick

pretend that you can do better tricks but are just chillin

Your mileage may vary

bless these are gonna be my steeze keys now (bars)

Pull your toes up in your boots when you pop. also just go for some spread eagles off bigger jumps first, they help with in air awareness.

If you take off backseat, you're probably gonna land backseat. Don't throw your weight forward by any means but flex through the shin/tongue of your boots a little more and see if that helps any.

taking off in a carve, landing continuing carve (or transition to other edge on landing) without scrubbing snow is one of the dopest things you can do on skis/snowboards imo, even on straight airs.

Practice stuff you feel extremely comfortable with like shiftys or carving in if you want to work on steeze and landings.

Also, it might sound stupid but getting your turns dialed (regular skiing) is v helpful for style. At least for me my steeze increased once I got my carving hella dialed. I think it helps a lot with control on jumps and landing tricks, as well as ski awareness and general skill etc...

Here are a few tips.

Do a bunch of stair jumps this summer. Just pick a staircase and jump up 2-3 stairs at a time keeping your eyes level and use your peripheral vision to land on the stair. This will train your body and your eyes to have much better form jumping.

Jump on a trampoline a bunch this summer. Your body is not used to floating in the air so you have to get used to it so when you start hitting more floaty park jumps it doest feel as foreign. This will help your body control as you land.

Do a bunch of power cleans. Landing a jump and doing a power clean are basically the exact same mechanics.

Get a yoga DVD. Skiing and Yoga are basically the same thing and the better you get at yoga, the better you will get at skiing. It will help your core, keep you hips open and body stacked, make you flexible to tweak grabs and go a long way for injury prevention.

Lots of leg workouts are good obviously as well as core, skiing uses your core a lot more than you would think

he clearly doesn't because theres only two authors in that video, tyler weinberg and brogan. You only cite et al when you have like over 4 authors.
