I've lived on both coasts and from my experience, West Coast smokes WAY more than the East. East tends to be more urban and health-conscious, only about half my friends here smoke cigarettes and I'd say that's an abnormally large percentage for most social groups on the east. When I lived in Montana... practically everyone on campus lit up.

I live in the East, and I do smoke, but I roll my own...
