Smith Maze vs Smith Vantage

The maze would definitely be lighter, and I personally think it looks better, but you might find better protection with the vantage--with its actual shell and, from the looks of it, more head coverage, as opposed to the maze, which doesn't really have a shell (just some paint and thin plastic on top of the foam).

I would go for a Poc Lobe--I skied in one last season and it has been my favorite so far. It fits and looks similar to the maze (as opposed to the vantage), but has a thicker shell and more vents. But if you're set on Smith then it would just be a question of slightly more protection vs. potentially looking better, if the maze is more your style.
 
I have a maze and its probably the most comfortable thing ive ever put on my head. That being said I wouldn't be wearing it again after 1 major crash with decent head impact (not that your supposed to anyway.)
