Smith I/O7 vs. I/OX.

If you own them put up your pros and cons. I'm on the fence, but definitely getting one of the two. Help a brotha out. Also is photochromic worth it?

ive never used the io/7, but ive had a couple pairs of the io/s. the ioX is bigger and a different frame system but nothing to different from my ios. i love my ios, so you would be 100% fine with the iox. as for the photocromatic lense.... Totally worth it in lowlight, but worthless in super bright conditions. for instance, night skiing the lense worked great. but later in the season when i was standing at the top of jackson hole, and it was 4pm, and the sun was super bright, i couldnt see crap. i was squinting and the sun was so dang bright my eyes were watering. i was literally skiing blind ( lol kind of dangerous) SO if you want good performance in intense sun, get a reflective lense, but for good performance in stormy, dark conditions the photocromatic are totally worth it. It just depends on what conditions youll mostly be using them in. good luck

also, if you order a pair of smith goggles that are reflective, they normally give you a lowlight lense too. ( which is the photocromatic lense) so in reality you really dont need to worry about the photocromatic anyways cus it will automatically come with whatever gogs you order

First of all, it's photochromic. Second of all, I've never heard of/seen a package where smith is giving out photochromic lenses as an additional lens for the same price as, say, a red sensor. I think you might bet honking o the red sensor mirror lens because they look the same on the outside as their photochromic lens, but the photochromic lens is like transitions glasses where it changes color and gets darker as the sun gets brighter and vice versa.

I've tried them on and the i/07 is slightly bigger fitting than the i/o but smaller than the i/ox. More similar to the i/o though
