Smith helmet question

so my brother spilled red paint all over my helmet and it looks like SHIT, ive tried everything and cant get it off and scratched the hell out of it trying to scrape it off. I'm thinking of intentionally cracking it or something and sending it into smith to try and get a replacement. Would that work?

Try to spray paint it black instead. I think that would be the easiest way, without risking cracking it without being warrantied.

if the paint blobed up, then sand it down, then spray paint it...

i dont think cracking its gonna work, you could try getting some paint remover from your local hardware store, home depot or ace what ever, they have paint stripper which is like hardcore stuff which might eat through the plastic if left on too long, its a gel type thing but first try lackathinner (not sure the right way to spell that) and then if u can't get it off cracking its worth a try i guess.

Smith has got a lifetime warranty, you could just send it back as it is.

Sorry to thread jack, but if I bought a Smith helmet, fell, helmet was crushed, could I just send it in and get a new one?

you should try to paint over it, but make sure the pait wont kill the plastic, or call smith and ask them before cracking it
