Just can’t have threads without being hijacked nowadays. I will say this type of forum behavior doesn’t happen everywhere, I’ve been a member of audizine for 10+ years and while I know there’s been debates, they’re typically non hostile, mods are a lot tougher over there, makes for a much nicer community.

Too many trigger happy people here, and too many people feeding the triggers with no one regulating, and society is becoming maybe too sensitive. When people post hateful shit it needs to be ignored by us members and allowing the thread to die, mods need to moderate, and new members should have introductory periods with posting restrictions, and probation for recently banned members and ip blocking for the more severe.

Dolans problem is a lack of emotional range probably tied to early drug use and further exacerbated by a need to be seen as a verified intellectual, so much so that he misses the bigger picture and forms tunnel vision. I for one can tell the dudes intelligent, and I respect that whether he has a Princeton degree or not, I also understand the rage and pride and the path to move past and control those things is not easy, and he’s told us he has some medical issues that effect his life, I don’t see hate in his racism, but I do see ignorance and anger in it. There’s no doubt a need for growth, and maturity and compassion from him.

There was a brief time in my life when I was going through tough times and was pretty fkn depressed, and I acted out on the Internet, actually got banned from a subreddit for cyberbullying some kid over casually using a slur. A few days later I literally packed up and moved cross country and it's the best thing that's ever happened for my mental health.

I say this because I sounded very much like Dolan has recently, specifically heavily berating people's intelligence and recommending they harm themselves. I'm ashamed of my behavior during that time, and I have learned and grown from that experience. I hope Dolan can do the same, as he will inevitably create a new email and username here.

Going off on a tangent and coming back to topic is one thing, but it seems like our ns community goes off topic str8 to h8.

I really like this site, and a lot of its members, can’t think of 1 member I dislike or wouldn’t like to ski with at least once, there’s some real cool people, some really skilled skiers, editors, filmers, pros and company reps, reviewers and really is a wealth of skiing info and has a way better vibe than tgr

I was able to show my 10yr old Nate shredz videos bc of this site, is of never known about Nate shredz that kid is awesome and my son has goals to overcome fear that he had no intention of before , he’s like wow I don’t have to be an adult to do big things!!!

Similar here, I’ve lashed out at others bc they couldn’t see “ my point “ , bc I had a bad day, or string of bad days that I kept in and boom, or tough financial or medical whatever, and said rude shit that I’m sorry for. Two of those arguements on this site caused me to re evaluate my thinking, speech, and what I value, some things I was conveying thru the way I talked that I didn’t mean to nor did I feel, I said shit that I didn’t even feel true just to weaponize words and be hurtful, and I may have missed out on a friend cause of it idk, and idw miss anymore. I can see similarities to Dolan and differences, both are ok, lotta things I like about him, things I don’t he just needs a timeout and to put that brain to use, find his own value and self worth.
