although small rider based companies like 4frnt and nithward were good for the sport they have sadly been unable to turn over the profit margins required to stay alive. nithward is going out and 4frnt is soon to follow. farewell friends.

 
dude, shut the fuck up. Im pretty sure the small companies understand that they have to work hard with little money to make it year to year. They dont expect to become the next K2
 
No way dude 4frnt is fuckin sick this season. Yeah...ninthward is kinda fucked but hopefully they can get their act together but for the most part you are totally wrong, smaller companies are where its at.
 
4FRNT's going no where, period. Their production levels are way up for next year, and they've got a bunch of cool, brand new shit for 07/08 (groms will b psyched, along with something insane from Hoji!!) - wait for pics from SIA, it's gonna be ridiculous.
 
yea 9th i wouldnt be surprised at all but 4frnt has good sponsored riders and tons of new stuff. im seeing more and more 4frnts year to year.
 
If you want to roll with the big guys you have have to be able to keep up.. yeah its too bad that they didn't make it but business is business and this happens in every single industry.

I cant wait until pipe munkey gets hold of this one.. he HATES the little guy.
 
if the people that started these companies had taken the time to get a business degree I'm sure they would be more successful, you can't just start from scratch and expect to make loads of cash. I am not talking about all the small companies, armada for example stands out of that bunch and sells quite well...
 
i heard atomic is broke and the ski industry is going out of business.

go buy as many skis as you can.

there wont be any new skis made in our lifetimes.

Honestly, after the way my local shop has been treated by Ninthward, I couldn't care less if they went under. They won't ship skis, and when they do the bases are on backwards. What the fuck.
 
i agree....the 9 is caca for skiing. Although i would not like to see Phil Belanger go down with the ship, Mik D could rot in a hole for all i care. That whole gangsta thing was just plain nasty for skiing. I don't mind Tanner, CR and their crew repping the Rasta chonic, but that whole " Gangsta gun toating" thing was just stupid. 4FRNT is just sick, and getting sicker. They aren't going anywhere.

even though i dont like nine cuz of their rep and shit, i hope they dont go under cuz i heard good things about the skis, and for 4FRNT i hope they dont go under cuz they are sick.!
 
truth? where's your proof. all i've heard are claims with nothing to back it up. granted, i wouldn't be real surprised about 9th, ive only seen one pair of their skis ever. but 4frnt, no way.
 
when you listen to the majority of this site youre listening to 10 people with the same legit opinion, and 10,000 who want to look cool by agreeing.
 
this thread is BS, no one even backed up their claims. we dont know anything about ninthwards or 4frnts finances, youre all just speculating
 
ninthward had more investors than any of the other core companies. do you think the money for those companies comes from the profits of their products at this point?
 
i highly doubt that 4 is collapsing. armada or some other larger company might buy them out. but not shut them down...
 
9th ward is crazy sick, they are diffrent in the sport and thats what alot of people dont like
