Small camcorders

i need to get a small enough camcorder to fit into my pocket for when i go skiing. capturing ski footage will be the basic function of the camera. i will only be putting video on my computer and on the internet. at first i was going to get a small MiniDV camera like a JVC or a sony, but then i saw some small tapless cameras on ebay. has anyone used these before?

yeah i was thinking of going for that plus the financing idea is cool. but the tapeless ones are much less expensive so i was just wondering if anyone has used those and what kinda quality they produce.

there is a samsung sport camcorder x or something like that. supposed to fit in ur pocket. i think it comes with a helmet cam and it is water proof and pretty tough. i think it is $599. check it out

 
sonys are pimp if you have the $$ buy it i have the sony DCR-pc109 I bought it off ebay last summer and its been great lots of features and sooo small I just checked ebay and the price seems to be the same as it was last year, makes me feel good about it holding its value

i bought the tapelss on on ebay if it says it has 3.1 megapixels its probably like mine and dont buy it. look at any vids in my profile and thats the quality.

When I was at Best Buy I saw a camcorder that was JUST big enough to fit a Mini DV Tape inside which would definately fit in your pocket no problem, and if it is Mini DV you will get much better quality than a camera that shoots off of a memory stick.

think_snow: thanks for the heads up on the tapeless camcorder i watched your videos and i need a higher quality camera than that.

matty: i think i'm probably going to go with that sony model. mini dv is definatly the way to go for quality video.

i have the sony DCR-HC30 and it works great. i think it was $500 for the camera, the case, 4 tapes, and a memory stick and charger. its pretty good for a small camera
